Chapter 25: Case Closed (by Jadeline)
"TOT'S SISTER?!?!" I shouted, "You were the girl on Johnny Abrahams show? You're lying!"
She laughed devilishly, cocking her head back. "Ha! So you know me well, ehh? And I'm not lying. Believe it."
"Stop! Julie stop it! This isn't funny!"
"I'M NOT LYING, TATER!"
"I-I-"
It's definitely her. I was sure about it.
I panicked. Julie had finally revealed her true blade. I had never been so scared in my life before.
Julie continued, "I've been looking for you for months, and I finally found you. You were right there, in hell."
"B-But Julie. Calm down... we're friends..."
"Friends? Oh please. With someone with the likes of you? Your unattractive and no fun at all. I pretended to think that you were actually cool. It was all an act. I'm an actor.
Those words hurt me. 'Friends? Oh please. With someone with the likes of you?' I began to quiver.
"Why did you pretend to be my friend?" I asked.
"It's all about trust. I need to make you comfortable with me first. Or else you could gain weird suspicions," said Julie.
"Tot's sister... I- don't.. I mean I can't believe you're actually-"
"Believe it. You good-for-nothing ugly chic."
Those words also hurt me.
"Why did you separate the Abnormals from the Populars?" I asked.
"I did it so it would be easier to find you, if I take out the suspicious from the unsuspicious. After all, the only things I know about you is that you have black hair, you can't love, and you're Abnormal."
I bit my lip.
"How did you know I was in Oasis Intermediate School? I moved thousands of miles away."
"You're the daughter of Wendell Tater, the state's most famous engineer, is that right? My secretary searched him up and found information that proves you're his daughter."
"What! I didn't know my dad could-"
"Enough chit-chat! It's time for me to finish what I came here for."
Julie turned around and clutched something on the desk.
"This is the knife that ended my brother's life..." She smiled.
Her deathly smile... Is something that will haunt my dreams. I thought.
"Let's finish this, Tater."
I backed away. Then I turned around and started to run. I ran towards the door. I tried opening it. It was locked from the outside.
"HELP! SOMEONE! PLEASE ANYONE!"
Julie held the knife in a fixed position. She walked closer to me.
My heart pounded. It was involuntary by all means. I couldn't escape.
"SOMEONE HELP!" I shouted.
Just then, I saw something behind Julie. It was a shadowy reflection. It got closer and closer to her, step by step. She didn't notice.
"TOT!!" I shouted. The shadow got even bigger. Julie turned around slowly.
It was Tot. I thought. Tot came back for me...
Then I stopped. It wasn't Tot. It was the next best thing.
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" shouted the figure. Julie screamed. She collapsed towards the floor in horror. She turned around to find a sneaky face with dirty blond hair.
"How-ya doing?" the shadowy figure said gleefully.
"MARCYYYYY!" I shouted. I was so happy that tears filled my eyes. I wanted to go up and hug her. But then I thought...
"LOOK OUT! JULIE HAS A KNIFE!"
Then behind her was Baylee, who jumped over Marcy to tackle Julie. She grabbed her knife and pulled it away from her. Then she grabbed her head and slammed it against the wall.
Behind her was everyone else. All of the Abnormals. Even Lindsay, who crossed her arms in sight of seeing me. Everyone else seemed happy.
After all that I've done. They still cared about me.
But wait. There was one more shadow who didn't come out. It had poofy but organized hair. It slowly came out of the darkness to greet me.
"Hi Jadeline," said a polite and soft voice. Tears filled my eyes
Sandra...
