Chapter 28: To Kill Two Birds With One Giant Stone

Baylee continued, "Another thing I realized is that Julie wears the same clothes everyday. That's awkward. She isn't poor, obviously. This led me to two conclusions. First off she was an actor-"

"How did you know??" I asked.

Baylee smiled and answered, "A lot of times, actors wear the same clothes every episode. It's part of entertainment. Julie also wore the same clothes in "Julie the Superstar", is that right?

Julie, looked up miserably. "My... old... show..." then she collapsed again.

"Idiot," said Baylee, "You were a famous actor. You showed up at school without disguising yourself in any way. Change your hair, your skin color, or your eyes. How could you not expect at least one person to recognize you?"

Julie mumbled with her head on the floor, "I-I was just so eager to find the murderer of my brother..."

"You could have at least changed your name, idiot. You pathetic whelp."

Julie cried on the floor. "She killed my brother... she killed-"

"She did nothing wrong," said Baylee, "We all know your story."

Julie lifted her head and blinked, "Wha-?"

"Jadeline dozes off a lot." Baylee said.
"And sometimes, while she is dozing, she says her thoughts out loud."

I covered my face. It was bright red.

"Most of the time it is about her past, through the troubles and hardships that she went through. As far as I remember, there was a boy named... Tot?" said Baylee.

Julie groaned.

"It was Tot's choice to commit suicide. Jadeline did not kill him. To be honest, that it was your fault," she pointed at Julie.

Julie's eyes fired up. "Why, how could you have suggested such an incorrect thing?"

"If you understood him more. If you treated him like a normal brother. All he wanted was to be loved-"

"But I did love him! He's my brother!"

"If you really loved him, you would've cared for him. And if you cared for him, you should've been the one to comfort him. You are his sister after all."

Julie whined, "I LOVED MY BROTHER! I DID! IT WAS TATER THAT SHOULD'VE COMFORTED HIM! It was Tater..."

Her strength ran out. She lay on the floor, breathing heavily.

I took a look at Julie. Baylee may be smart, but she there were things even she didn't know. After the series of events that had happened, my heart opened a new emotion for me. An emotion that only Tot and I have. It was truth, a mixture of understanding and feeling of loss. It was my substitute for love. I understood her completely.

"Julie," I spoke up. "For your whole life you've been holding on to the belief that I was a murderer. After 4 long years, you still kept that belief to hide your own emotions. How you really felt. Julie, as far as I know, you are very much alike from Tot and I. You both are Abnormal. Julie, you don't have one emotion. That is doubt."

Chapter 29: Truth and Doubt

"D-Doubt?" whispered Julie. "Of course I have doubt. Doubt helped me find a dweeb like you in the first place."
