"Wh-what?" I stare at him in shock, tears pouring down my red cheeks.
"I'm a demon, silly. No dumb potion from this dimension's going to affect me " Bill laughs, enfolding my hands in his.
"But then-why did-why'd you-" I sputter out, hardly able to comprehend anything that's just happened.
"Have to get my laughs somehow."
I hit his shoulder, shoving him back. "That wasn't funny!" I nearly yell, wiping away tears.
"Aw, c'mon," He disappears, reforming and hugging me from behind. "Calm down," He whispers. "You're too cute when you're mad."
I blush harder, a short laugh escaping my mouth as I turn to face him. "You scared me, okay?"
"So you really do like me, huh?" He grins down at me.
"You didn't... did you really mean all those things you said? You know about me just being an insignificant human?"
"Not a word, Police Box."
"Then why'd you say them?!"
"Old habits die hard. Messing with people is kind of my thing. We can't have me making exceptions, can we?"
On an impulse I wrap my arms around him, pulling myself closer to him with my head on his chest.
"Please just never do that again."
I feel his arms around me once again. "Deal.""Crazy rooftop fireworks party!"
Those are the shouted words I wake up to right outside my room. At seven AM.
Bill was in my room late that night. Well, early this morning I guess. We didn't really say anything. We just sat together silently. I must have fallen asleep eventually, because, well, I woke up. Bill's gone, though. I can't believe he would pull a prank like that, but I'm just glad it's over. Throwing my hoodie on over my pajamas, I open the door. I look out to find Mabel and Dipper with a huge box of fireworks.
"Woah!" I walk up to them. "Are any of these legal?" I laugh.
"Not so fast, kids!" We turn and find Stan glaring down at us. "There is no way on earth you're setting off those dangerous, illegal fireworks..."
"Aw, man!"
Hr grins suddenly. "...Without me."
"Yes!" The three of us cheer in response.
We soon all make our way to the roof, fireworks and a cooler full of Pitt-Colas and icy-pops in tow. Firework after firework goes off. Mabel, right now, is standing excitedly next to Stan as he lights her sky rocket.
"Here you go, sweetie. Set something on fire for your Grunkle Stan," He tells her as I grab my own from the pile.
"I AM THE GOD OF DESTRUCTION!" Mabel screams, shooting the rocket into the air.
"Hold on a minute," We look down off the roof to see Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland. "Do you have a permit for those?"
"Uh..."
"Uh, do you have a permit for being totally lame?" Stan replies and we all laugh.
"Heyo!" Mabel cheers on our grunkle.
"Well, I can't argue with that," Blubs chuckles as he and Durland walk away. "Carry on."
Stan laughs. "But seriously though we should probably clean this mess up."
Looking around the Mystery Shack, there are many small fires around and on it.
"With water balloons?" Mabel pleads.
Stan smiles"I don't see why not."Stan and I sit on the porch as Mabel and Dipper run around throwing water balloons more at each other than the fires.
"Seriously?" Dipper sighs as his balloon goes no more than a foot before splashing on the ground. Mabel's balloon flies at him, knocking him backwards as she runs by, screaming like Tarzan.
"Ah. This is what Saturdays are for. Doing dumb things forever," Stan leans back on the couch.
"DUMB THINGS FOREVER!" Mabel and Dipper reply, leaping into a pile of balloons. They pop on impact splashing me and Stan.
"Whoa, there!" Stan laughs as I pull off my, now soaked, hoodie.
"To Grunkle Stan!" Mabel raises her icy-pop. "Not just a great uncle..."
"The greatest uncle!" Dipper and Mabel hit us with a barrage of water balloons.
Oh now you guys are gonna get it!" I stand up, pulling a whole bucket of water balloons out from under the porch. Grinning, I pick one up. "THIS MEANS WAR!"
Stan laughs as balloon after balloon is either thrown by or at me, more often the latter.
"No fair teaming up!" I shriek, laughing as I attempt to block another balloon.
"I tell you it's unnatural for siblings to get along as well as you do," Stan points to them.
"Psh," Mabel waves her hand dismissively. "We still got plenty of summer left to drive each other crazy!" She attacks Dipper with a hug. He retaliates by shoving her back with a balloon. While they're distracted, I hit them both with one.
Stan mumbles something under his breath. "Kids, there's something I, uh, something I should tell you," He tells us. He seems really nervous for someone so carefree just a minute ago. "It's um....Well it's complicated. I... I'm gonna go refresh my soda," He walks behind the house. But... he was right next to the door? Where's he going? It doesn't seem to bother the twins though... it might be fine... I'm yanked out of my thoughts by a splash of water and the sting of water balloons hitting bare skin.
"Target secure! Take the house!" There's a sudden shout from behind the shack, and the next thing we know is there are helicopters everywhere and these... agent guys surrounding us.
"What the-?" Mabel, Dipper and I look around in confusion.
"Kids are secure. Roof team! Go!" One of the agents says into a walkie-talkie.
"Kids?" I cross my arms, tugging on the bill of my hat.
Several agents rappel out of a helicopter, and I see more crashing into the shack.
"Guys, what's going on?"
Both my cousins shrug, shaking their heads.
