It's been a week and that clown has me on a mission... why can't he go f*** a cactus or something else that will cause him pain!?
"Dude, you're staring into space. You okay?" Rin was waving his hand in my face. I grabbed his hand mid-wave and forced it to his side. I was still walking with him and Yukio so why does he have to bother doing that. I saw him take a small step away from me and I just huffed and a small giggle escaped my lips. He seemed taken aback by that small showing of emotion, but I couldn't really blame him. It wasn't exactly normal to see someone as myself laugh in such a way.
"What's so funny you two?" Yukio turned around. I shrugged and Rin just just stood there doing nothing. He turned back around, huffing from what I could tell, and kept walking a head of us. He's dumb, but if he doesn't have any redeeming features I'll just have to deal with it. I'm starting to get of track so I'll explain where we're heading: Mephisto, sorry, Johann Faust said he needed us three to go this mission to try and find a demon king. I can't exactyl remember which he had said, but I'm pretty sure it'll be obvious when we find him. We need to, at the minimum, find where he is and if possible exorcise him from his vessel.Yukio came to a halt. I looked up from the ground after running up to his side, a hobgoblin coming into full view, I suppose we're after the King of Earth then. I snapped out of my gaze and noticed that Rin and Yukio had their weapons drawn, pointed towards what I could only assume to be Amaimon's familiar, Behemoth. I closed my eyes and thought of what I should do, they obviously don't know what I am and now isn't the best time for them to be finding out. I opened my eyes and sent a glare at the two, making them stand up straight and got ready to fight. I grabbed the rifles off of my back and moved into fighting stance, knees bent, back straight and guns ready to fire. I already knew this fight would be hard without the use of my wings, but they shouldn't have to know yet, it'll be a while before the thought of telling them even seems reasonable.
The brothers still hadn't made a move, instead choosing to watch the hobgoblin's movements, looking for an opportunity to strike. We didn't have time for this, if you see a familiar, it's owner will always be near by and be preparing to fight you themselves. I ran ahead of the demon, ignoring the yells of protest from Rin and Yukio as I passed under it, I had to find Amaimon, if they were going to waste their time with his familiar, so be it.
Everything around me was a blur as I ran, the trees coming together to form one mass of dark color. Being out in the open wasn't going to help me at all, but it should give openings for the target to come out, maybe to stop being elusive and come out for a real fight, only a coward would let their familiar fight for them. I slowed slightly, looking closer at my surroundings. It was darker here than it was before, the trees stretching overhead to form a veil. I don't know how far I had ran from the two, but it couldn't have been that far, I could still hear their fighting as they finally made a move towards the familiar.
"Oh wow, I didn't expect any of you to make it here now, shouldn't you be fighting Behemoth?" I hadn't noticed him appear there before, he was standing there, slouching and letting his arms hand down with him. His eyes were boring into me, watching my movements not much unlike the twins had to his familiar, who I guess I was correct in assuming he was called Behemoth.
I didn't reply, I simply dropped my arms to my sides, still holding my guns, and stared him down. He didn't look strong at all, but I had learned not to underestimated someone because of looks. He did, however, look strange. His clothes were something I'd never seen, dark colors upon dark colors, a shirt and matching shorts, a vest and matching, what I assume to be, socks and a pair of pointed boots and a trench coat for the, definitely not needed, weird touch. His hair, short and green with a strangest spike, was not needed at all, but still added to him, showing his tired blue eyes, that looked me over themselves. There was complete silence between us for a long time, the only sounds being the wind and distant fighting from where I left the brothers. He stood straighter during the silence, myself following him and lifting my arms, pulling the guns closer to my side.
"You know, it's rude not to reply," he had broken the silence, glaring slightly towards me. "I don't like being ignored."
With that he broke out into a run, coming towards me threateningly with a fist ready and aimed too obviously at my stomach. I was quick to dodge, jumping backwards and away from him, now aiming a shot at him.
"I do apologize, I simply saw no need for an answer from someone like me to someone like..." I looked him up and down with a scowl ", you of all people."He didn't answer me, choosing to run at me again. I couldn't see him, only a blur as he landed a hit on me, just missing my throat. He did manage to make me fall back, winding me as he pulled his fist back.
One.
Two. Now
Three.
Four punches on my face as he held my throat, choking me and holding me down. I felt blood running down from my nose and came to my senses, kicking him off of me and wiping my face, seeing the blood on my arm I stood up, shaking slightly before raising my guns again, looking around for the brown clad demon. I can already tell there was no point in just exorcising him, it wouldn't work. I'd have to kill him and the vessel.I heard a snapping behind me, turning quickly and firing I heard the sound of the bullet enter his skin. I wouldn't do much at all, but the force and timing of it had to slow him down some how. I shot at him again, hoping to slow him down further. It didn't do that. He kept running at me, the blood splatters not moving him at all and instead sending the blood onto the both of us as he took one of my guns away from me, throwing it to the side. Thinking quickly, and not exactly clearly, I moved my gun the short distance to his head, hitting him and aiming a kick down where he'll hurt.
Sadly, by then he was out of his daze and got the chance to grab onto my foot, stopping me and forcing me into his arms, my back to his chest and one of my smaller guns from my side being held to my throat. I could feel his blood seeping through my shirt and his, my breathing uneven and rough as he squeezed my waist tightly and suddenly."Now will you stop fighting?"
I just nodded, my breathing evening out slightly, still strained but better than what I could hear from Amaimon. I must have shot closer to his lungs than I had thought.
"Good. Now, why did brother send you after me? Is he testing you?"
At this point I couldn't tell if he was talking to me or himself, so I chose to stay quiet again, thinking of a way to get out of his grip. Barely into my thinking he pressed the gun closer to me, I must have missed what he had said, I guess he wasn't talking to himself."I assume that question was for me then. I don't know if he's testing me, though I can assume he is. Now I have a question for you. When do you plan on letting me go, you smell of mud."
He huffed and loosened his hold, still holding the gun to me. He moved his arm from around my waist and instead grabbed my face, inspecting me and digging his claw-like nails into my skin. I tried to break free from his hands and succeeded, reaching to the gun on the ground and pointing the other up to the demon kings head.He didn't move from his position as my finger went to the trigger.
He didn't move when I aimed...
