Why?-Chapter 4

Chapter 4

School was nearly over and i had said yes to go to the movies with Jake. I only had one hour left until school finished. I have to say, I'm excited for tonight. i haven't been out in a while and it's going to be fun. Jake seems like a nice guy. We have a couple of things in common and i think that Ben is starting to get a little jelouse of Jake. I can see it in his eyes. Every time I'm with Jake i can see that he gets a little annoyed at our bonding. So what if i have made a close friend already! Can't i make friiends? (note the sarcasism) Any way, we were walking to the group, and Ben was sitting there with an annoyed look on his face. This can't be good. He never got annoyed...

"Hey what's up with you" Jake asked Ben. I nugded him in the side. I detached my self from his side and sat down at the table.

"Nothing that concernes you." That was a bitb harsh. Ben is never harsh when it comes to close friends. I wonder what's wrong. If it doesn't concern Jake, it doesn't concern me. I pushed it aside and asked Jake to get me my lunch. I know that sounds lazy, but i just don't have the energy any more. School tires me out.

"Hey any thing you want to talk about? You seen edgy"

"No. I don't want to trouble you with my problems."

"You sure?"

"Summer, just leave it. Please. I havn't seen you in over a year and your already hitting on one of my best freinds."

"Exuse me, He invited me out to the movies. I'm not hitting on him. If i was hitting on him, i would be flirting with him and be all over him like a slut."

"Well, I'm sorry but i don't like it."

"Well I'm sorry, but you can't tell me what to do with my life."

After that, Jake came back with uor lunch and sat down next to me. He looked at me and smiled. i smiled back. Ben snorted and sat away from us. He moved away to a different spot on the table. Jake looked confused and looked at me. I just shook my head and started to eat my lunch.

After i finished my lunch, I thanked Jake for getting me my lunch and stood up. I said good bye to the boys and started walking toward the doors , when suddenly a hand grabbed my hand. I turned around to see who it was. It was Jake.

"Hey, what do you have next?"

"I think i have English. What about you?"

"English. I'm with you"

"Yay, I cant wait."

As I walked to my locker, Jake went to his. I grabbed a reading book, a writing book and and a pen. I walked to the classroom where i have English. i waited at the front of the door for the teacher. After a minute of waiting, Jake turned up and so did a couple of other kids. I was getting nervous now. It's my first English class. I have to confess, English is my favourite subject. I just enjoy reading. It's my favourite thing to do in my spare time. I love reading at night in bed cause it's relaxing and gets me tired more quickly. Any, way i'm in class now and I'm sitting next to Jake. He's just talking, thinking that I'm listening when i'm not. I'm too concetrated on my book. The book is so thick that I have to sit on the table just to read it. It's called 'Girls Night In' It's full of different short stories writen by female authors. It is amazing.

"Summer, are you even listening to me?"

"What? Oh sorry, i was concentrating on my book. What were you saying?"

"I was aking what movie you wanted to watch tonight"

"Oh, umm, what movies are there to watch?"

"There's The Hunger Games Catching Fire"

"Oh, yeah let's watch that. I've been meaning to go see that."

"ok, The Hunger Games it is."

"What time did you want me to pick you up?"

"what about 5:30pm?"

"5:30pm is fine with me"

i nodded my head. Cool. It's all settled then. I gotta say I'm exited for tonight. I haven't been out for a while and i need to do something to get my mind off the things I'm worrying about.

School is finished now and i'm walking home. I have my head phones in and i'm listening to whatever song is on. i felt my phone vibrate. so i get it out of my pocket. It's an unknown number. I text back asking who it was. After a minute, the person texted back and it was Jake. I press call. I put the phone to my ear and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?"

"Hi Jake, just wondering, how and when did you get my number?"

"Oh, haha yeah about that, i asked Ben for it."

Wait? Ben still has my number? I thought he would have gotton rid of it...

"Ben still has my number?"

"yeah, why?"

"I thought he would have deleted it after we split..."

There was an awkward silence for a second.

"No, he didn't infact, i think he still has feelings for you..."

"Really? That's too bad, cause i like someone else.."

It's true. I like Jake. I know we have only known eachother for a day, but i really like him. I mean, he's so nice and he cares for me.

"Jake i'll see you later. I gotta go."

"Ok. See ya later."

And with that, i hung up. I walked into my house. Bree was in the lounge room watching something on Justin Bieber. I swear to god, if i hear another thing abouut that boy, i will privetly go to his house and kill him my self. I walked up the stairs and put my bag on my bed. I went for a shower and blow dried my hair. I then put on some light make-up on. I don't usually wear make-up. I only wear it if i'm going out with friedns. I then went to my wardrobe and found a floral drees. It was nice wheather to wear it. it was nicce and sunny outside. It is also hot out side so a dress is appropiate. A few minute later i was ready. I put on my sandles and walked down stairs. I went to the lounge room and wait for the next hour or so. That might sound strage that i'm ready to leave, but i like to be ready early becasue it makes me feel like i did a good job.

It's nearly 5:30 and i'm getting my purse.

"Bree, if mum askes you were i am, can you tell her i'm out with a friend?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks"

There was a knock at the door. I got up and went to answer it. I opened it and Jake was standing there in casual clothes.

"Wow, you look amazing." At least some one likes my out fit

" Thanks. It's one of my favourites."

"You ready?"

I nodded.

"Bree, I'm leaving."

And with that I shut the door behind me and walked to Jakes car...

There you go! So Sorry for the late update(very late may i say)! I have been extremely busy with school and family. Any way, I hope you like this chapter and i hope i can write another soon.
