Why?- Chapter 5

Hey guys i am extremely sorry for the late update. I have been busy with school, christmas and birthdays. Also i am on school holidays. Please forgive me!! But ere is chapter 5, hope you enjoy

Jake wanted to go to the moves with me tonight. But why me?? There are a lot of pretty girls in this school, so I ask again why me? he's my ex's best friend and that just makes it awkward.

"Umm sure why not. but just wondering, why me?"

I was waiting for his answer. his face had a confused look on it.

"What do you mean?"

"Well there are a lot of pretty girls in the school and you pick me. my ex boyfriend is one of your best friends."

" I don't know... it's just your so nice and well you understand things better than the rest of the girls in this school. Even though I have only known you for a day, I can already tell that we're going to be great friends."

He let his speech go on for a bout a minute. It was sweet. as soon as he finished talking, he went red in the cheeks and looked down at the ground.

"That's sweet."

I looked at him and he looked at me.

It was home time and I was walking home. Jake was picking me up at 5:30pm so I had to hurry up, because it was 4:30pm. So that leaves me an hour. When I got home, mum was in the kitchen. I walked over to her, kisses we cheek and at at the bench.

"What was that for? why are you so happy?"

"Because I'm going out tonight with a friend."

"Friends already? who?"

"You won't believe me but Ben and he's friends..."

"Really? how is Ben?"

"He's good. the thing is he's a bit jealous because I'm going to the movies with his fried Jake..."

"Oh.. we'll I see Bens point. you haven't seen him for a year. it was hard for him to let you go."

I sighed. I never thought of it like that. I got my phone out and dialed Bens number. I walked up stairs and to my room. I closed the door behind me.

"Hello?"

"Hi Ben... It's Summer..."

"Oh hi, what's up?"

"I'm sorry about today. I didn't realize that I was hurting you. seeing me getting along with one of your best friends must be hard. I'm sorry if I upset you. I have no interest in dating him yet or maybe ever."

"Summer, it's ok. really. I just haven't got over you yet.."

Wait what?! he still cared for me? Well the truth is I didn't really get over him to. I had to be brave today and face the fact that he might had moved on from me and found someone better then me.

"To tell you the truth, I haven't either. did you want to come over tomorrow so we can catch up?"

"That would be lovely."

"Ok then see you tomorrow at school."

"Bye."

And at that, we hung up. this was good. I haven't had a proper conversation with him in a year. not even a phone call. I went to my closet and grabbed a dress that I usually wear when I go out with friends. it was a black dress that goes to the middle of my thighs I applied a tiny bit of makeup and brushed my hair and I was done.

I went down stairs to the kitchen. I checked the time and it was nearly 5:30pm. Jake will be hear soon. mum looked at me.

"What?"

"Your seriously going dressed like that?"

"Yes"

She just nodded her head and smiled. Bree walked down the stairs and looked at me.

"Where are you going?"

"Out"

"Your dress is shorter than usual"

I looked down at my dress and and it had creeped up my leg. I pulled it down and there was a knock at the door.

"That's Jake."

I walked to the door and opened it....

I am so sorry for the super late update!! my schedule is so busy now! and I haven't had wifi!! (which sucks) any way I hope you enjoyed this. And if your asking whats with the new name, I didn't the title suited the story line that I was planning. any way bye for now but not forever
