Unexpected Journey

An elemental choice

Hannah takes silent and slow steps toward the colored lights. No one knows what to do. How, or even if, to stop her from going any further. When she finally reaches for the one glowing blue Genna has just about enough of watching her bestie do the leap of faith into the unknown. She runs before Hannah's hand has a chance to touch it.

"Hannah have you gone insane" Genna says grabbing Hannah's hand.

Genna stares into Hannah's eyes with a worried and scared expression. Hannah catches her gaze and stares back with a blank face. What feels like hours takes seconds. Everyone else still speechless thinking this can't be real this isn't happening, this isn't possible, that this is a nightmare. This is real this moment that can only happen in a movie is happening now. Their gaze all on Hannah and Genna not prepared for any possible outcome. Hannah turns to the orb and reaches for it with her other hand and a great light flashes. Then she's gone.

"No! Where is she?!" Genna screams.

"Guys, we need to go now!" Autumn yelps in fright,"Who knows what the other ones will do and I don't want to find out!" She gestures to the orbs which are brighter than ever.

"But what about Hannah?!"

"There won't be anyone to help if we don't go!"

"Autumn is right, we need to go." Marla exclaimed grabbing Genna's hand so they could go.

Isaiah looks up tearing his eyes off the terror in everyone else's and sees that the orbs are now vibrating. As Genna and Marla go in front of him he finds himself following them without a thought. Autumn looks behind all of them and finds the lights are now following them like shooting stars. It's beautiful and terrifying at the same time. She runs trying her hardest to keep in the fast pace of the group, but in time she falls over and one of the orbs goes for her and just like Hannah now Autumn is gone too. Fearful for their lives tears running down their faces Isaiah, Genna, and Marla keep running for the exit while the remaining follow getting closer as the orbs seem to be moving faster than the group could run. Over half way there, it turns into everyone for themselves. Genna lets go of her and runs ahead. Marla trails closely behind and suddenly they are finally met with the dirt wall of the entrance that is now, somehow, closed.

Genna, Marla and Isaiah all turn around to see their impending doom.The orbs get way too close way too fast a flash of light blinds all of them.
