Everyday they were still in deep thought of how and when they would tell them. Staring off into space and almost dreaming of the matter. Soon though, the ones that didn't know of the situation grew tired of the constant dozing off. And wanted to know what was going on. So one day, a rather interesting conversation came to the table at lunch with the whole group.
It was brunch time and Andrea spoke up, "So, what have you guys been seeing in space?", She asked wittingly.
Autumn perked up, "Huh?"
"I think what Andi is trying to say is that you guys haven't been talking much so is something up?",Ethan asked.
Marla took up an opportunity to take their plans to the next stage, "Well I was thinking that we haven't hung out outside of school in a while". Marla nudged Autumn hoping that she got the message.
"Oh yeah!", Autumn exclaimed, "Some of us were trying to plan a day to hangout at the park later."
Ethan leaned over the table, "You know we have a group chat right?" he asked, "Why not use that?"
They looked at each other nervously as they tried to think of the next thing to say, making Andrea worry for the integrity of their friendship.
"Are you hiding something from us?", she asked nervously.
Getting even more nervous about the secret that they had they had become silent. Suddenly, even the friends that decided that it was none of their business flew in with worry.
"Wait, you're hiding something as a group?", Sahithi said with surprise.
Erin gave them a sceptical look, "Dudes that's not cool."
"Look we're trying to tell you the secret, but just not here, okay?", Hannah announced.
"What could be so bad that you can't tell us here?", Ethan protested.
"Well, we can't tell here now can we?", Isaiah said with a raised eyebrow.
"Where do you want to tell us?"
"In the park."
"What time?", Andrea said taking out her phone to plan the day.
Right before they could say another word Vlad came to the table, "So, what are you guys talking about?", he said taking a seat at the table.
They all looked at each other waiting for someone to say it. When nobody said anything, it had become apparent that Vlad was not supposed to know. After school they had texted details that everyone agreed with, so they could meet and tell them the secret.
The large group found themselves in the park with the trees behind them waiting for one last person. Erin, Hailey, and Andrea were in a group sitting on the grass while Sahithi sat partly alone picking at the grass in thought with Autumn next to her as company.
"Where is she?" Ethan exclaimed impatiently. "We have been waiting for her for 30 minutes already".
"Marla will come eventually" Genna explained.
"So can you not show us here and now?", Andrea interjected, "The park is empty."
"Nope, cause she's here", Autumn said pointing in Marla's direction.
The group of friends sighed in relief. Right before leading the group to the edge of the forest. They all patiently walked to the clearing where all the people who have not been there were astonished that something this beautiful could ever exist. They spent almost half an hour in amazement. Andrea was spinning in the open grass in the middle of the trees shaking in the winds. The rushing water intrigued Erin as she wondered where could it have been coming from. While her sister Hailey sat down and felt the soft grass
"Wow", said Ethan.
"Yeah this place is amazing!", Andrea said.
Sahithi, eager to hear the big reveal said, "So, is this the secret?", she reminded everyone that there even was one.
"Nope!", said Genna, "This is"
Genna put her fist at her side then ignited them in a blazing flame. As her friends gasped in shock and amazement she threw a punch to the air in front of her sending small sparkling embers to them as well as a wave of heat. Before they could react though a snake of water zipped past them, putting out the embers in its wake. Accompanied by this were Hannah's movements. She beckoned the water to come to her and it made a ring around her, showing that she was controlling it. A flash of lightning zoomed from the other side of the clearing to Hannah reforming to be Isaiah. He touched Hannah's water hoop and filled it with electricity making it fall to the ground.
"Hey!", Hannah yelled.
"What?", Isaiah asked slyly.
"You know what."
Before, however, it could turn into an argument, a hawk dove in between them. It landed on a branch and a flash of orange light revealed it to be Marla. A vine then grew down from a nearby branch allowing Marla to swing down from the one that she was on.
"Thanks, Autumn.", said Marla.
"No problem, it's a gift, and it would be a sin not to use it."Autumn responded before turning her attention toward the others. Autumn raised her hand and a small daisy grew instantly after.
Soon, however, the daisy lifted off the ground on its own with a small purple glow around it. Everyone watched in silence as the flower shifted to Sahithi's side.
"Autumn!", Hannah said in shock, "When did you learn to levitate flowers like that?"
"I didn't," Autumn said in return, "that isn't me!"
"Nope!", said Sahithi, "This is all me!"
"You?", Isaiah jumped, "You have powers?"
"Yep, had them all along." Sahithi said then looked at the flower and it spinned on point, "Nice flower Autumn."
Sahithi brought the flower to Autumn using her magic, and when it got to her Autumn touched the petals and it dropped to the ground. Apparently, the magic wears off when someone touches it. Sahithi went on to explain that she had her powers for a little less than a year. She mostly used them around the house when no others were home. While they were talking Erin decided to make her own discovery.
"Andi," Erin whispered, "Do you know where that water leads?" She pointed toward the flowing river.
"No I don't, you wanna find out?", she told Erin.
"Yeah"
Erin and Andrea slipped away to follow the river in hopes to find something undiscovered. They walked for quite a ways before finally reaching the end of the river but they saw no pond or lake at the end, instead the water just came to a small cave. Too small for any of them to fit in, so they couldn't follow the path of the river any longer. They examined it to find where it went, but found nothing to help their curiosity. Andrea was just about to finish with the investigation when the both heard a sudden voice they did not recognize.
