The others backed away, afraid of what she would do. Her new orange cat eyes were locked on Genna. This fight was a truly bad idea. When Genna looked in Hannah's direction it became clear that she was alone with this. There was a blindingly bright glow, hiding any sight of Marla. Then she had reappeared, only she had physically morphed into a jaguar. Before anyone had the chance to get a good look at her Marla lunged at Genna. Thankfully she dodged it.
“Dude I’m sorry, don't try to kill me!”,Genna screamed. It didn't matter what she said, Marla didn't listen.
Marla, eyes still locked onto Genna, was ready to pounce again. During this, Hannah had thought that maybe she could snap her out of it by splashing her. It’s worth a shot she thought. Hannah looked down at her hand with her symbol, and focused on creating water.
Genna, still face to face with a dangerous predator that used to be her friend, had no other choice but to fight her. Genna focused on making fire and a flame rose from her hand and up her arm. Marla growled at the sight.
“Marla! Calm down!”, Autumn shouted. “Control yourself!”
Marla didn’t listen to her though. She stared at Genna dead on and jumped at Genna. The jaguar got a face full of fire as Genna blocked her, but Genna still got slightly slashed with the claws.
Marla began to relax after being hit by Genna’s attack. Seeing that she had hurt her friend made her soften. Then Hannah finally created a drop of water and built off of that. She launched it at Marla, now joining the fight. Marla flipped over and was now more enraged than when she had started.
Now that she was ready to attack Hannah, Autumn saw it and shouted “No, please Marla! Stop!”
Marla still didn’t listen to her. She growled louder than ever, when there was another light much like the one that turned her into a raging demon. They all stared to see what would happen when, to their relief, there was a human form. But to their dismay the cat eyes still plagued and cursed Marla. Claws appeared instead of fingernails. Hannah got a jumping fear as Marla came rushing toward her in her new form.
Autumn thought it was her turn to try and finish this. Marla jumped once more, and Autumn ran and shielded Hannah. Marla was in the air as she realized that she was about to seriously hurt her best friend. Everything was in slow motion, all of the good memories with her friends came rushing back to her. Marla swatted her own hand, and tumbled to the ground, taking big breaths while in shock. Isaiah finally sparked a lighting ball in his hand and went up to Marla to see if she was alright. Cautiously, he inched toward Marla. As she opened her eyes, he was ready for anything but they appeared normal.
Isaiah wasn't going to be fooled, he had to make sure everything really had returned to normal. “Marla…?” he called, making it sound like it was a question, “Are you okay?”
Marla had fully opened her eyes now. “Yeah, I think so,” she said calmly.
“Oh. Good. Finally.”
Suddenly, all of the memories of her trying to hurt her friends came back. Marla looked around at the damage. Genna was on the ground holding her cheek from where she had been scratched, Autumn was half-dead in Hannah’s arms, who was paralyzed with the disbelief of what she had done for her. Hannah was squeezing Autumn, never wanting to let go. And Isaiah was taking hefty breaths that wouldn't stop if he tried.
