Levi smiled. Grinned, actually. That's a first. He laughed. I laughed. I laughed in the first time in awhile. I was happy. We were happy. But I am alone. I feel alone. Alone as I'll always be.
"Hey, how's your arm doin'?" Levi's eyes gleamed with concern.
"Broken, obviously, " I say snarkily.
Levi looks around a bit, at his house that always seemed to be empty, obviously looking surprised about my snarkiness.
I sigh, "Sorry. Life is being mean to me."
"'Cause of your arm?"
"No, " I pause, "I'm so done with Katherine." I open my mouth to say more about what happened, but he interrupts.
"Ben told me, " he looks around sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck.
I just nod, not surprised.
"I can help you," he says to me, "with Katherine."
"Okay...."
"Okay!" Levi clapped his hands together and his green eyes sparkled. "Operation Comeback to Katherine begins!"
My sister is at the hospital, still. It's been a week. It turns out that the greenish bluish blob that I saw was actually a nurse. She told me about my sister and where she had gone and what caused her to make us crash. She was drunk, was all I heard. I'm sorta pissed.
It's 11:54, at night. I'm in my house, curled up on the edge of my soft bed. On the floor, my phone vibrates. Probably Katherine. I'm planning to block her. Just as I touch the creases of my plastic phone case, three quick taps come from my window.
I freeze, sort of creeped out. Well, you know, it's totally normal and not creepy at all to have someone have a ladder and climb up to their bedroom window when it's almost midnight. I'm sorry for being paranoid.
Growing more frantic, I scan my room to look for something to--"Luna!" Levi's muffled, but familiar face came through my ear.
Thank God, it's Levi.
My muscles instantly ease, and I walk towards my bedroom window.
A nice breeze went past my ears. And Levi hands me a piece of paper rolled up into a scroll. "CTK," he says quietly then disappears as he descends dramatically.
