The bell boy opened the door and placed my luggage on a table before turning and asking "Will you require anything else?" I told him no and thanked him for helping me. An awkward silence filled between us as he stood stuck to his spot staring at me.

"Do doop doo" I sang in my head as my eyes drifted around the room, waiting for him to leave. As my eyes landed back on his, it struck me.

"OH!" I said out aloud realizing what he was waiting for "A tip!". His face moved into a large smile as I imagined what he was thinking of me.. "Dumb tourist".

I frantically searched through my purse knowing all too well that I only carried credit cards.

"I suppose you don't take Australian currency?" I asked him with an embarrassed smile.

"No Ma'am" he replied sharply.

I could feel his eyes burning into my back as I continued to search my purse.

"Here!" I said proudly as I handed him a business card.

He looked at me puzzled as I encouraged him to turn it over. On the back I had written "I.O.U". He looked over the business card and stared at me with partial eyes. I enthusiastically smiled back

"That's good for one I owe you!" as I pointed at the card "That's better than gold!"

His face fell into a look of disgust as he responded "I'm sure it is Ma'am"

He turned toward the door and made his way out of the apartment.

"Have the best night! And thank you again!" I yelled in his direction.

The door slammed behind him as I kicked myself for not having stopped for cash exchange at the airport. "Good one Belle" I thought to myself.

After a few minutes of feeling guilty I looked up to finally take in my surroundings. I was on the 14th floor overlooking the hustle and bustle of the city.

I stepped toward the large, floor to ceiling windows and took in the breathtaking view. I felt like a Queen on her immaculate throne looking down on her army of ants that rummaged below her feet.

I turned back to the apartment's living room which was overlooked by a large, open plan style kitchen. Sleek white and black gloss cupboards and shelving popped over the hardwood floors. A white lounge suite hugged the entire living room with a natural woolen rug at its feet.

I walked from the living room through to the extravagant master suite, again with floor to ceiling windows on the far wall showcasing a picturesque city skyline. It had its own bathroom and walk in robe which, alone was larger than my bedroom back home.

"My two suitcases will be very lonely in this space" I thought to myself.

The master bathroom had a large corner spa bath to the right of the room and an open rainfall shower to the back. The marble tile looked elegant against the charcoal tile flooring. Being a fully serviced apartment, I gazed in awe at the soft towels and 'Aesop' hand soaps left for me by the housekeeping staff.

A single rose sat on the side of the bath with a silver platter of strawberries and complimentary bottle of wine. "I could get used to this" I thought as I drew myself a hot bath, breaking the rose petals from the bud to lace the warm water.

As I settled down into the water my body became heavy in relaxation. Jetlag began to settle in as I thought about tomorrow's events. I was due to start work the next morning and knew that I should try and sleep as soon as possible so that I can make it through my first day.

I exited the bath once my hands became pruney and wrapped the luxurious bathrobe around my body, fastening it at my waist.

I settled into the large king size bed and took a remote control from the bedside next to me.

"Now, what do you do?" I thought curiously as I inspected the many buttons on the remote control. I could see "Blinds" written next to two arrow buttons. I pushed the down arrow and in an instant, the tall windows had block out blinds covering them from view.

As the blinds slowly fell from the ceiling to the floor, they hid my little slice of heaven from the world outside. I let out a wailing "oooooooh" as they crept to a close.

The room became dark, as though I had turned off the sun with the touch of a button and in no time at all, I was sound asleep.
