I am up and ready to leave in a matter of a few minutes. I am slightly sluggish from lack of a good sleep, but manage to muster enough energy to pull through. I slowly move across the room to my closet. I open the door, excited for the choices, but end up with the same old outfit. A blue v-neck tee, a brown or black jacket, grey shorts or pants, black waterproof boots, and a bunch of hair ties. I run to the bathroom, change, throw my hair into a braid, and meet my team in the room down the hall.
"Hey guys." I say mid-yawn.
"Hey." They all say.
Rush stands in the corner of the room, slowly falling asleep. I laugh and walk over to him.
"I don't think you should fall asleep right now." I say with a laugh.
"I bet not." He says and stands.
We walk over to the rest of the group and stand along side them.
"What are your guys names?" I ask.
They stare at me blankly. I can tell I'm blushing, but I can't help it. The girl must have saw my embarrassment, because she speaks up.
"Kira." She says with a fake smile.
In shock, the boy gives in, and rolls his eyes.
"Jamison." He says.
"And I'm Callie!" Callie laughs.
"What a cool name!" I joke around with her.
She laughs, as do I. It gets very quiet and the only movement is a few shuffles from Callie. I decide to break the silence.
"So, do you guys have any hobbies?" I ask.
"If hunting counts, yeah." Kira says.
"I hunt too, I love hunting. What do you use?" I question.
"Mostly knifes. I've had some practice with them my whole life." She says, with a real smile.
"What about you?" She asks.
"Well, I hunt, using my bow, knifes, and anything that will kill an animal actually. Except for berries. They poison the animal, and the blood. Therefore, the meat, and the entire animal is no good then." I say.
"Your intellegent." Jamison says.
"I don't know if you would call intellegent. I went to school, I learned that there. I did payed attention, but managed to make no friends. I'm not really good at that. Obviously!" I laugh.
"Yeah." Kira laughs.
"What about the rest of you?" She says.
"Well my name is Rush, I really don't have hobbies, except sneaking into the woods everyday." He says, "The city is strictly against that."
"My name is Callie! I enjoy everything! Oh except fighting, and sports. And being forgotten." Callie says.
We all laugh and Callie frowns.
"What?!" She says, "Did I say something wrong? Do you guys hate me now? Please say no to that."
"Oh Callie." I say.
When we all calm down, I find out everyone's abilities. Thing they are good at.
"What are your guys best abilities. Things that could help us?" I ask.
"I can hunt, fish, whatnot, and throw almost anything at high speeds. And I am good at fighting." She says.
"Ok. We can work with that." Rush says.
Before Jamison can speak, Kira answers for him.
"He won't own up to it, but Jamison is super intellegent! He can solve complex problems in his head. Not to mention, he won multiple awards for his intellegence." She says.
"Ugh. Kira. I'm not that smart jeez." He says.
"Ok, that will defiantly be at our advantage out there." I say.
"Callie?" I say.
"Um, well I'm good at building, my father was a stoneworker." She says.
"Great." I say, "Rush?"
"I'm good at camoflauging. I can use natural items to make us practically invisible." He says.
"Ooh! I can paint!" Callie says, clapping her hands and bouncing up and down.
"I'm good at hunting, and surviving on my own. I can build my own fire, and whatnot. I learned that young. And I am ok in hand-to-hand combat as well." I laugh.
"Well, we have someone that can hunt and fight, someone highly intellegent, a builder, a painter/ camouflager, and someone to help us survive." Rush says, "What are the odds of us losing? We have a great team!"
"Well, we don't know the others." I say, "They might be just as good."
"Yeah." Kira says.
The loudspeaker clicks on. Time to meet our first challenge.
