"Help!" He screams, "April!"

"Let go of him!" I yell, tears spilling from my eyes.

Jax it's dangling from the ground. A massive person holding him upside down in his hands. I am absolutely terrified. What should I do?

Rush and Hazel walk into the clearing.

"Ha. The whole group of them?" The thing says in a deep voice as he looks up from a small monitor, remote thing.

It chills my bones. His glowing red eyes meet mine, and lock on me, and then move to my sister. What does he mean by a group of them?

He drops my brother, which send a scream though him, and sprints towards Rush and Hazel.

"Run!" I scream.

Rush's eyes bolt back and fourth. He snatches up Hazel, she screams, and he carries her though the woods. He is gone in a split second. Disappered. I know no one that can run that fast. It's almost like he is-. No he can't be.

The thing laughs and come closer to me and my brother, which has crawled to me.

"I'm sorry April." He cries.

"It's ok, I'm sorry too. I got this." I say as I push his hair back out of his eyes, "Just remember I love you."

I stand and stare the being down. His red eyes meet mine, and he breaks into a sprint.

I pull a knife out of my pocket and twirl it in my hands. I wait for the perfect timing. Inches from my face, the being drops to the ground with a knife though it's heart. I start to shake and scream. Did I just do that? I run to my brother, which is curled up by a tree out of sight.

"Jax!" I yell.

I drop down and hug him. I've never been so happy to see him.

"Jax, I was so worried. Mom would have killed me if something happened to you." I sob.

"I'm sorry for running off." He cries into my shoulder.

"It's ok. It's ok." I whisper.

I stand up and grab the remote-looking-thing from the beasts hands. This could be useful sometime. Who knows?

"We should go find Rush and Hazel." I say to Jax.

He shakes his head yes.

"Ok, come on, let's go." I say holding out my free hand.

He grabs it and stands. We walk into the woods, out of the clearing, watching our every move.

"Anyways, why did you leave?" I ask, "And how did you get into this mess?!"

"I don't know why I ran off. Just to explore. I sat down by a tree, counting leaves, and then this thing came out of nowhere. He snatched me up and carried me away. I tried so hard to get away, but every time I did, it made its grip tighter on me." He explains.

Then I see the beginning of bruises on his arm, legs, and torso. His arms are cut up, and his left eye is starting to turn black and blue.

"That was really brave of you April." He says to me.

"Well, family comes first. My safety is less important than that. I don't know what I would do without you, mom, and Hazel." I reply.

"Thank you April." He says for the first time in his life.

"Your welcome. Now let's go find Rush and Hazel."

I grip the remote in my hand, determind on finding out what it is, and why what ever that was had it.
