Bella P.O.V

Edward wraps his arms around me as we lay in my bed. School is off today so we decided to take a lazy day in bed. I smile to myself at the warmth I receive from him. There is no other place I wish to be and I can't wait to have him all to myself in June. Unfortunately we can't go out, I'm grounded for leaving without telling anyone for all day. Esme did give me a very long lecture of it and even James for taking me.

"Bella?"

"Hmm."

"Can I ask you something?"

I hesitate, what does he want to ask?

"You may," I say.

"Why do you never speak about your mother?"

"Elizabeth," I said without thinking it twice. I'm so used correcting people whenever they call her my mother. I look out the window and sigh. "It's a very long story."

"We have time."

I sigh, running my hands down his arms that wrap tightly around me. "I'll tell you a story."

"A story?"

"Yes," I said. "Just don't interrupt me, okay?"

He nodded.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I can tell him, I trust Edward and plus, we're running away with each other in four months, he needs to know the story of my mother and why I hate her so much.

"It all starts in London, back in 1998 when my mother was only sixteen years old. She was very young, beautiful and kindhearted - according to her. People around in the neighborhood she lived in knew her well. She was friendly to everyone, cared about everyone until she met my father, Charlie. Who happened to be a man way older than her. She fell in love. She fell for his lies, his promise of richness, a lifetime of happiness and love together. It all went down from the moment my mother told him she was pregnant, he left. My grandmother was upset, very upset so she made my mother promise that after my birth she would give me away. My mother had to accept.

"I was born September 13, 1999, that same night my grandmother took me from my mother. My mother when she recovered she took all of my grandfather's money and ran away. I had only been two weeks with the parents they gave me away to until one night she broke in, taking me from the nursery and fled the country. She brought me to New York city, bought us a new identity and lived different lives.

"My mother was not good mother, Edward. All the hate, the pain and betrayal changed her. She never hugged me, she never kissed me, never tucked me to bed or read me a bed time story, she never said she loved me. I've never heard her say those words to me. I never felt her touch, her love or her happiness. I was given the cold shoulder, greedy attitude and hurtful lectures. She made sure she made me as cold and careless as she was.

"She used me in numerous occasions. She seduced men, got all of their money and fled each state. I lived in five different states during my life. Running and lying along with my mother in order to protect ourselves from the men she destroyed. The men that were once powerful and wealthy were turned to miserable and useless. At last we moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she married a rich old man and killed him two months after the wedding.

"Now, as it turns out, her true colors keep coming out. She had a illegal relationship with a married man, who apparently always knew of my existence and only wants the only thing she left me that was worth anything."

"What is it?" He asked.

I look at him. "Money. It's the only thing that drives people these days. I do not wish to live with him, he could rot in hell for all I care."
