Bella P.O.V

Wow, I never thought I'd had such a good time shopping with Alice. This has been a very eventful day and I love it. First, I'm actually excited because I passed my calculus test that Edward helped me study for and as a gift for myself, I accepted Alice's offer of shopping and even took money from Elizabeth's jewelry box.

But that wasn't what was so good about this day but the sight of Jacob with his so called new girlfriend. It was a girl a grade younger than us and too clingy. Poo Jacob looked so annoyed to be with her. It made Edward smile as he wrapped his arm around me and kissed the side of my head as we walked past them.

I surely did enjoy my day.

On the way back home, I received a call from James.

"Hello, James," I answered, ignoring the weird looks Edward and Alice give me. They don't understand my relationship with him.

"Bella, I call to tell you that I'm at the Cullen Manor waiting for you," he says curtly. "Be quick."

"Why are you here?" I ask.

"Because we have bigger problems that just knock on the door. Literally. You'll pass out once you see it."

"What is it, James? You're scaring me."

"What's wrong?" Edward asked with a worried tone.

I shake my head at him. He doesn't need to know, not until I know what the hell is wrong.

"You'll see once you get here." He hanged up.

I groan, dropping my phone on my lap. What the hell is going on? Why is James here? What happened?

"Fucking great," I mutter under my breath.

"Is everything okay?" Alice asked.

I nod. "Yeah, it's just something I have to talk over with James."

"You two are way too familiar for him to just be your lawyer or whatever he is," Edward observed, his hand gripping mine a little harder.

I smile at him. "Are you jealous of James?" I asked amused. He shrugged without looking at him. "Baby, you shouldn't be jealous of a thirty five year old man. I just known him for almost my entire life."

Realization hits me hard. James has been in my life for far too long, as long as I can remember. I never knew how he met my mother or why has he stuck around with us through all those states we left. If I were him I would have never stuck for that long.

I remember once when I was seven, about to be eight I was playing with something in a room with no bed. I slept on blankets and a dirty pillow on the floor, we've recently moved there. James had entered my room and stormed out just to yell at Elizabeth. They shouted at each other for a while, I can't remember what they were shouting at each other. James later came in my room and picked me up in his arms. I think he looked pretty shaken up.

"Come here, sweetie, come here," he said as he picked up some of my clothes from the floor. "We are going on a little trip."

I remember he walked out of the house with me in his arms, covering me with his jacket.

"Don't you dare take my child!" Elizabeth shouted from behind.

James shouted something back, something I can't remember but I do remember Elizabeth's shocked expression when he said whatever he said. He took me away from her to I don't know where or how long. No one ever shocked Elizabeth to the point to where she was left speechless, I wonder what it was.

When we arrived at the manor, I spot a very familiar car parked next to James. Where have I seen this car before?

We get the bags out of the car. I take another glance at the car when the license plate caught my eyes. Arizona.
