I looked up in the sky, wondering what's going to happen to me when I reach Manhattan tomorrow. I'm starting to worry because I grew up in Palo Alto, California which is really far from a crowded place like Manhattan, New York. Tomorrow will be my flight and I'm already set except for my thoughts which are still puzzled. My dad had this weird idea in sending me to New York and I don't know why. My dad is a famous business man who travels across the globe. My mom? She died years ago. We're all involved in a car accident and my dad, sister and I are the only survivors. It's been ten years since that accident and I have already moved on. My mom's a great woman and she's a famous doctor who owns a huge number of hospitals across the globe. Some hospitals were passed on to my dad and the other hospitals were passed on to my sister. My sister currently traveling whenever she feels to go. She really loves traveling around the world. She already finished college and now she's finding some opportunities around the world. According to dad, she's in France, doing some serious medical work.
I decided to count all the stars while thinking what could happen to me in New York. Everyone in New York seems to be on the spotlight. Why? Because most of the people who lives there are really famous and rich. I'm also going to attend a famous school where most actors/actresses, rich people are studying. I don't know what happened to dad but he knew I hate being with rich, sometimes annoying people. I studied in a famous school here in California and most of us are scholars. I'm also going to miss Anya. Anya is my best friend since childhood. I have a lot of friends but she's going to be the most missed. I love Anya even though we're total opposites. She loves singing and I love dancing. I love studying but she never does. All she do was copy with my work but still, I love her for being my annoying best friend.
I glanced at my watch and saw it's already 8. I went inside from our garden. I saw that the maids are already serving our dinner. I know it's kinda lonely because dad's in Australia and all the maids are eating in a different room.
Things happened so fast because I'm already in New York. I went down to look around my new condominium which is really big. My dad didn't let me stay at my new school's dorm because my dad have some really trust issues. I fixed my things immediately. Tomorrow will be the first day of school. I decided to roam around the place after fixing my stuffs.
"Ms. Wilder, welcome to Wilder-Stevenson hotel" the guard addressed with respect. What?! I was shocked when I noticed that dad's name is here. I don't remember my dad owning this hotel. I told you, my dad have some serious trust issues. He never let me off guard. My dad protects me too much because he doesn't wanna lose me like he lost his older daughter. It's five years ago when my sister, Martha's about to go to college. She's planning to study in London but our dad cut all her booked flights so she doesn't have a choice but to stay here. When Martha found out about the dad's scheme, she ran away. She used the money mom had given to her and even though she's too young to handle some hospital issues, she forced to study so she could earn money by herself. Right now, I have no choice but to follow dad's orders because I can't earn money all by myself.
I went to the nearest coffee shop and ordered myself a coffee. I noticed that one boy kept staring at me while I continue to drink my coffee. He then approached me with a smile on his handsome face. He has blue eyes and a sparkling one. He's perfect red lips match his exquisite nose. He looks some kind of a model.
"Hi" he said and smiled. I just smiled at him back and he asked if he could share a table with me. I said yes. I was really attracted by his looks and especially his smile. He's firm body, white complexion and perfect height compliments each other. He looks really stylish as well. It's kinda effortless because he's just wearing a knee length red jeans and a lovely gray Vans at the bottom and on top, he's wearing a green t-shirt with words written on it. Stylish guys really turns me on.
Back in my school in California, I was always mistaken as the girl version of womanizer. Why? I'm a girl who loves hanging out with boys because they're less drama. Guys also get links to me even though I don't really like them. The truth is, I grew up to be one of the boys. Girls hated me. Why? Because I'm new and different. I don't know why but Anya kept telling me that I'm something special.
Suddenly, I noticed that the guy's starting a conversation. Instead of being a snob, I entertained his questions.
"I'm Shantel Wilder"
"I'm Raphael Parks"
Raphael is currently studying at Armstrong High School, an all boys school and exclusive school for rich people. I asked him if he knows something about Levine-Strom-Green High School. He told me that three great business man established this school for boys and girls who're really rich as well. See? I think New York revolves around rich people. He also told me that our school is more likely to be rivals in everything.
"We stay friends huh?" I offered him nicely. He giggled. I looked at him which made me blushed so I drank my coffee to distract myself instead.
"Are you the famous Greg Wilder's daughter?" he asked seriously. I didn't expect someone like him to know my father.
"Uhm why?" I asked first in curiousity. He just continue to wait for my answer. "Yes"
His mouth dropped open. I saw him slapped himself when he noticed himself speechless. "What?! What about him!?" I panicked.
"First of all, your father is one serious great business man and second, you'll be entering a danger zone"
"What!? Where!?" I chocked.
"As you can see, Levine-Strom tandem is the greatest rival of Wilder's. Who picked your school by the way?" he asked curiously. I started to wonder why my dad would make me enter such a trouble. Am I going to be a spy?!
"What about Green? My dad chose this for me" His mouth dropped once again and I find it really funny for the second time. He smirked at me.
"I don't know but Greens doesn't step on anything" he said. Suddenly, his eyes became focused to the one who just entered the shop. I turned around and saw a man wearing a polo shirt paired with jeans and Sperry. He looked towards us and I was surprised when they greeted each other.
"Parks!"
"Stevenson!" I stared shockingly at him because he's the heirloom of the hotel that my dad bought half it shares. I looked at his green eyes and messy hair.
"Why hello there Ms?" I heard him as he continued to refer to me.
"Shantel Wilder"
I was surrounded by these two lovely boys and I'm still paralyze at the thoughts that 1. Sooner or later, I'm going to be dead due to my dad's weird scheme 2. Stevenson here's surely pissed because of my father 3. Why would dad enter me at a rival's area?
