21 - EXPECTATIONS

I can't believe that Zac is crying in front of us. He sat at one chair and tears began falling from his eyes. The sight is torturing my heart. I'm happy because I know that Mrs. Green remembered that i'm her daughter but i'm suffering because my friends hate me and my conscience is eating me. I was speechless. I do not know what to tell my mom or what to tell Zac. I am frozen in front of them.

"Are you happy now!?" Zac shouted. He stood up and walked towards me. Mrs. Green tried to block but Zac got to me first. Everyone's eyes are locked on us.

"What's the next plan huh!? Are you going to make her pity you or kidnap her huh? Tell me!" he shouted.

"I don't know!"

"Wow! The great Shantel, don't know what to do yet! I don't believe you! You're the monster who got everything planned already!"

"Zachary, stop" Mrs. Green scolded but Zac just ignored her. Zac was probably right, I already have plan for everything. The time where i'm out of ideas never came to me. I always racked my brain with ideas but right now, I can't think of anything else. I really don't know what to do after this.

"You don't deserve a mother's love!" he shouted. That words hit my nerves. My blood started to boil. I'm used to hearing bad names about me but what he just said is too much.

"What did you just said!? You're just scared that my mother might love me more! That she might choose to be with us instead of you! You're just scared Zac, with what's going to happen next!"

Suddenly, Zac's fist hit my face. He punched me so hard that blood started to pour out from my mouth. I just looked at him in disbelief. I can't believe that he'll hit me especially with her mom around. Kenzo ran to my side and helped me stand straightly. I started to feel light headed. Everyone's stunned with what they just saw. Zac became to shake. He's staring at his fist. I think he can't believe that he just punched a woman.

"According to our teammates, he never punched someone before" Kenzo whispered. So that explains why he's shaking and nervous. Her mom ran to his side.

"What are you thinking!? Home! Now!" She shouted. Mrs. Green walked outside immediately. Zac followed. "You deserve that!" Mary said and followed Zac. The others followed too. I noticed that Patrick looked back. I felt that Patrick's the only one who feels concern for me. He's probably the nicest in the group except when Lyla's happy.

"Are you okay?" Kenzo asked. I suddenly fell from my position, good thing Kenzo caught me and supported me to stand. "It's time we go home" Kenzo said. We're walking in the hallway and everyone's looking at us. The rumors here spread faster than a car. I wish that they would just stop looking. I already texted Paul to pick me up.

When Paul finally arrived, Kenzo and I are sitting on a bench outside.

"I think you should return inside" I said. "I can't stand seeing you suffering because of me" I added and walked towards the car. He held my hand and pulled me so I could face him.

"No, i'll stay beside you. I promised right?" He said and smiled. I can't believe he's staying even though i'm a monster. I hugged Kenzo and ran to the car. I know I looked weird but I must lose him. I don't want him to see me break down in the car, especially at home. He would pity me and I don't want to be pitied.

I told Paul what happened.

"I'm ready to leave this Saturday, please schedule it! I don't care what dad thinks" I commanded.

"Okay."

I woke up and the bruise got darker. It's my last day in school and today is also the play. I can't believe that i'm paired up with Zac. I don't know what will happen when Zac sees me later. It's gonna be a war.
