20 - FRIENDS

"Where have you been? We'd been worried and sick!" Lyla said. I was finally able to go to school the next day.

"I'm sick for three days" I explained. Every time I see someone who knew what happened this Saturday, I always end up feeling nervous and a little bit embarrassed. It also looks like they haven't tell it to anyone yet because they're acting just the same, even Zac who's mother is involved.

We're given the whole day to practice and I was glad with that because I will not encounter a lot of teachers today. I had to stay away because they might bring it up when they see me.

"Lyla. Can we talk? Later? In the roof?" I said. I already made up a plan and i'm going to start with Lyla because she understands me the most. She might be a little immature but she takes things seriously. I was glad that she actually came at the exact time. I really though she wouldn't come.

"Lyla. I'm sorry for being a bad friend-"

"No. You're okay! It's just that you keep too many secrets from us and-"

"That's what i'm talking about. I have too many secrets and we're friends and I think you deserve to know. I know it's too late but at least I tried. I know in some way, you'll get mad at me but please listen to me first" I said. I took a deep breathe and gathered all my confidence. What happens after this is not good and I know that. I deserve any consequence for being such a liar and selfish girl.

"I am not a Flinn. I'm someone you hate and i'm pretty sure of that. I lied and i'm really sorry" I said. "Then who are you?" She asked curiously.

"I'm Shantel Wilder."

She stared blankly in front of me. I can't read her reaction but all I know is that I am pretty sure that she's pissed. I lied so many times.

"My dad sent me here to do some work. My dad is really Greg Wilder and my sister is Martha Wilder." I explained. "Why does your dad wants you here?" she finally spoke but it's in a cold voice. She sat next to me.

"He wants me to find some information about mom. The reason I kept everything a secret is because they told me everyone hates Wilder here" I explained.

"I'm here because of my mom. My mom is Zac's mom, Eva Green." I whispered. She stood up immediately so she could face me. "That's why I can't tell you.. Because you're Zac's friend" I added. "How can you be so sure of that?!"

"The months I spent with her made me very sure." I explained everything. I told her about Eva's answers to my question, how my dad find out that it's probably Mrs. Green, my conversation with Mr. Mikelson and most of all, when I brought my sister to meet her. "So you're planning to get you're mom back?" She asked. I find that hard to answer. Why? If I answered yes, she'll be angry and if I answered no, i'm lying again.

"To be honest, yes"

"You can't just take her away! Can't you see that she's already happy with her new family!" She shouted.

"I know that but can't you see that I've been longing for a mother's love. To be specific, love from my true mother, Elizabeth!" I answered back.

"She's not Elizabeth anymore! She's Eva! Can't you get that? You're just like your dad! Liar, selfish and the one who destroys families!" She shouted. The joyful Lyla I know changed into something's fierce and angry. I've never seen her so angry like that before. The words she said actually broke my heart. She's probably right. "Maybe that's why God took her away from you and gave her to a better family!" That's hard. I thought. "I'm sorry! What does my family ever did to you!? You judgmental little-"

"Wanna know what!? My mom worked for your dad! My dad visited her and he actually caught him seducing her and apparently, mom likes it! My family almost ended because of your dad and I don't want that to happen to Zac too just because of your selfish reasons!" She shouted. I was shocked to hear her words. Dad? Seducing her mom? I want to smack my dad in the face right now for being such a demon.

"You're dad's a beast! and you're one of his little demons! I really thought you're different then you told me about your stinking plan, you witch!" She shouted and then left. She closed the door so loud, people downstairs might heard it.

"She's right. I'm dad's little beast! I'm not like my sister who fought against him. I'm the one who followed his path. I'm a liar, selfish, dad's little beast. Lyla is right, Mary's right and all the people who hates me, they're all right." I told to myself.

I returned to our room and Lyla's out of sight. She's probably telling it to Patrick and the others especially Zac. We continued to practice and all my so called friends are not around. I asked our president about them and all she said was there's a serious matter that they need to handle. I completely know that it's me that needs to be handled. I started to feel scared. I was involved in a serious beating months ago and they're all girls. What if boys joined to be specific, Zac, Patrick and Jake? I can't believe i'm about to get bully again but I think, I deserve this. Beast needs to be punished sometimes.

Unexpectedly, Kenzo entered our room. He's the only friend I have right now. I'm so glad he came here. I can't go outside, someone might be out there to get me.

"Hey!" he greeted happily. All I could think about is Lyla and I think he figured that I'm troubled by someone. "What happened?" he asked. He locked his eyes on mine. I focused my eyes on my classmates who are practicing right now. I don't want to see him pity me right now.

"Promise me you'll stay with me, please" I asked.

"I promised." He said. "What happened?"

Suddenly, Zac came out of nowhere and he's angry. He's pushing all the chairs that are blocking his way. His eyes locked on mine. I noticed that Jake's behind him and he's forcing everyone to leave. Lyla is also behind him. Mary's actually smiling behind him while Patrick is trying to stop Zac but Zac's pushing him away as well.

"Step away Kenzo!" He commanded but Kenzo ignored it. He's making himself as a human shield.

"I can't believe your helping that beast!" He shouted and tried to push him away but Kenzo seems to resist it.

"Can't believe you're helping the one who used you!" Mary shouted. They all turned to face Mary. He's looking at Kenzo and then returned her eyes back on me. "Used?" Zac asked.

"As you can see, Shantel used Kenzo just so Zac could stay away from her" Mary explained. "Shut up Mary!" I shouted.

"I can't believe you're letting yourself get fooled by that beast!" Zac shouted.

"That beast is someone special to me! And I chose to be fooled because I know i'm doing something good for her!" Kenzo shouted. I can't believe Kenzo said those words. He's still standing in between Zac and me.

"Move Kenzo! Don't make me hurt you first!" Zac shouted. Suddenly, Patrick and Jake grabbed Kenzo's hand. Kenzo kept fighting to be freed but he's no match for two athletes. He was also weakened when Jake punched him in the stomach. I tried to help him but Zac blocked my way.

Now, i'm facing Zac and Lyla and Mary are behind him. Kenzo and the two guys are in the corner.

Suddenly, Zac pushed me to the wall.

"I'll never let you steal her from me"

"You beast!"

"What the hell is happening here!?"

We all turned to see who's talking. We we're all shocked. Patrick and Jake released Kenzo while Zac moved away from me.

"Mrs. Green"

"Mom! You need to stay away from her! She's a monste-"

"Zachary." She said.

"That monster is your step sister." She said.

Suddenly, my heart goes tumbling from hearing what she just said. I saw that Mary and Lyla looked disappointed while the two guys tried to comfort Zac by patting his back. Zac is angrier that before. He pushed chairs away from him.

"She's going to steal you! Away from us and I won't let that happen!" Zac said.

"A monster like her is not my family!" He added.
