Clary's POV

I was rudely awakened by a pounding on the door. "You are needed." Said an unfamiliar voice, probably a shadowhunter that had arrived yesterday. "Ok....just give me a bit" I mumbled still waking up. I turned to my side to see Jace still fast asleep, the sunlight was hitting his face glorifying all his beautiful features. I smiled. I scooted closer to his face. "Jace." I whispered, he grumbled and shifted away from me. In response I started kissing down the neck and back slowly and softly. "Your trying to kill me aren't you?" He said groggily. "No just trying to get your attention." I laughed. "Well you have it." "We are needed." I sighed. "Ugh." He growled into his pillow. "I know I second that."

Minutes Later
We both grudgingly made our way to the library where we I think we were supposed to meet for I could here the chattering before I even got to the room itself. We opened the doors to find all of the the shadowhunters who where not badly injured crowding the room. "You finally made it down. You both went to bed quite early last night." Izzy said while giggling. "Shut up Izzy." Jace said in an irritated tone. Then the doors bursted open, the council stormed the room. "Everyone gather round we have some news." The room quickly got quiet and all movement had ceased. "The reason this bunch of shadowhunters were able to make their way home is we thought the war was ending. We left only a few people behind thinking that they could handle it and then it would be over, but we overestimated the enemy. It seems they have way more warriors than we thought. Therefore all the shadowhunters not critically injured will be portalled back to the battlefield in 2 days time." After this statement my heart dropped. I felt as though someone had stabbed me in the gut and now I was just bleeding out.
