Jaces's POV

(Thursday)

" You know once you do this you can't back out, right?" Said the council member. "I understand the terms." I said gravely looking out at the deserted battlefield. "You start next Monday." "If you don't mind me asking, why not tomorrow?" I asked quizzically. "Oh I take it you were not informed then. " I shook my head in response. "We make a trip back to the Institute tomorrow to get more recruits and more supplies."

Clary's POV

(Friday)

"ALEC!!" I yelled, he was by my side in seconds. "Are you ok? Whats happening. Do you need-." I interrupted "Alec nothing major I am just stuck, I can't sit up." "Oh thank the angel." He sighed. "Here
put your arm around me."I did as I was told and he carefully pulled me up so that I could stand up."Thank you." I said once I was standing firmly on the ground. "Im going on a walk." I decided, Alec proceeded to follow. "Alec, I can do this on my own. I really don't care about whoever the hell told you to keep an eye on me, I'm ok, honest. Please let me do this on my own. " "Alright but if you tell anyone I'm dead, I'm trusting you. Izzy didn't even want you staying at Magnus's this week." "Really?" I questioned, he nodded. "Well I'm glad I'm here I couldn't stay at the Institute any longer it was beginning to start to feel like a prison." I headed towards the door and waved at Alec goodbye. It was a beautiful day outside, besides all the noises from cars and annoyed drivers. The sun was out and the clouds were covering it just enough to where it wasn't to hot out. The breeze hit my face and I could feel the air flowing through me. Then I thought of Jace and how his golden hair would glisten in the sun and how you could see your reflection in his beautiful eyes. I wonder if the baby would have his eyes. My thoughts were interrupted by the noise of my phone ringing from my back pocket.

Jace's POV

I walked through the portal and was overcome by joy because when I opened my eyes I could see the inside of the Institute. I stepped into the room and nearly got the wind out of me by the hug Izzy gave me. " Thank the angel your alright." I looked down at her. "Come on Izzy you have little faith, I can take care of myself." She pulled away. "Cocky jerk." She chuckled. I looks around the room for Clary. "She's at Magnus's." I sped out the door, dying to see her.

Clary's POV

I checked my phone to see who it was, it was Alec. I answered. "Alec I'm just fine so-" "Clary, Clary. Jace is back, he is-" That's all I heard before I hung up. I ran to the Institute, well as fast as a pregnant woman could run. I ran the first couple blocks, but started to ge out of breath. I bend over hands on my knees catching my breath, when I looked up there he was at the other end of the sidewalk. He saw me too, we looked into each other's eyes and we both started to run to each other. He got to me first, of course seeing as he's not pregnant. He picked me up and wrapped my legs around his waist, our noses touching. "Your a little bit heavier than the last time I saw you." Tears running down my face I answered, "Just a tad." He then pushed his lips into mine, pulling him closer to me.Like there was any closer, we as close as two people could be and yet it did not feel like it. He pulled away and I unhinged my legs from his waist. He still had his arms around me and mine around him. "I love you." He said tears trickling from his cheeks. "I love you too. We both do." I said looking down at my stomach. He choked, his eyes filling with tears. "How far along?" He put his hand on my stomach. "7 months." I responded through the sobs I was choking out. "I've been gone that long?" He cried. I nodded. "I'm so sorry   Clary." I took his hand. "It's ok, you're here now. Nothing else matters."
