It had been a month since you and Luke broke it off. He was your high school boyfriend and we're now going to different colleges, and long distance just didn't work. It was rough, but it was for the best. Your best friend Evan really helped you through it.
Tonight is your first date since the breakup. A mutual friend named Jared is taking you out tonight, he's nice, so why not?
Skip awkward date
The date was terrible. Jared is literally the most boring human you have ever met. He only talked about himself, and you were only thinking of one person the entire time.
You decide to call Evan.
"Hey Y/N, what's up?" Evan answers.
"Are you home?" You ask.
"Yeah, why? Aren't you on a date?" He asks.
"I'm coming over." You say and hang up.
It's a two minute drive to Evans house. You knock on his door.
"Hey Y/N, come in." Evan greets you.
"Hi." You say and walk in, you directly go to the couch and sit down.
Evan can sense something is wrong. "So how was your date?" He asks you.
"It fucking sucked." You told him.
"Jared is a great guy, how did it suck?"
"I have feelings for someone else!" You almost yell.
"Y/N please don't tell me you're still hung up on that dickhead Luke."
You sit there silently, a tear rolling down your cheek.
"Y/N..."
"It's you, idiot. I'm in love with you. I always have been but I just.."
He cuts you off by smashing his lips into yours.
"I feel the exact same way." He tells you.
You spend the rest of the night laying in Evan's arms, happier than you've ever been.
