Chapter Six

Ryan's POV
Today is the day of the CMA Awards. Jason and I are making our red carpet debut tonight and I'm so excited. I'm nominated for Best New Artist and I'm praying for the best. I'm sitting in my new apartment in Nashville and my makeup artist and hair stylist are here to start getting me ready for tonight. Jason decided that he will come pick me up after he got ready because he didn't want to see me until after I was ready. He wanted it all to be a surprise. I've been getting ready for hours and I'm finally done. Jason should be here soon and I'm getting nervous. I don't know what to expect. I'm putting a little more hair spray in my hair when there is a knock on my door. I smile to myself and go to answer the door. When I open the door, Jason is standing there with a sexy smile and looking all handsome. "Wow babe. You look beautiful. Are you ready to go?" He asks holding his arm out and helping me to the limo.

We arrive at the red carpet and my nerves instantly get worse. I feel like I could puke. I look over at Jason with a nervous smile and he squeezes my hand reassuringly. "Just smile for the cameras baby. I'll be right there the whole time." He says as the car door opens and the screams get louder. We step out of the car and start walking down the carpet. Jason and I both stop to take some pictures with fans. It's not long before we have reached the interview section of the carpet. The first person that we come up to is the one and only Bobby Bones. "Coming up to us now is Jason Aldean and the very lovely Ryan Sanders. How y'all doing?"

Jason's POV
"How y'all doing?" Bobby asks as we walk up. "We're good brother. Gonna enjoy this party tonight." I tell him as Ryan and I both laugh. "So Ryan, you're nominated for Best New Artist and performing a new song tonight. How do you feel?" "Oh my God, I'm so nervous but I'm excited." Ryan tells him with a smile. We quickly wrapped up our interview and made our way inside to our seats. Ryan is one of the first performances tonight so she has gone backstage to change. "This girl is one of country music's newest female voices. She came in at the top of the charts and it's a real honor to introduce her. Ryan Sanders everybody!" Jana Kramer says as she announces the performance. When Ryan walks onstage, I'm completely mesmerized. She starts  to sing her new song, Wasted, and it sounds amazing. I can't wait to see how far she goes.

I just finished my performance for my song Just Gettin' Started and I'm walking back to my seat. It's time for the Best New Artist award and Ryan is more nervous than she has been all night. Kellie Pickler and Luke Bryan walk out to present the award. "And the winner for Best New Artist is....Ryan Sanders!" After Ryan realized that they said her name, the tears started falling and she stood up. I stood up with her to give her a hug and a kiss and then she walked on stage. "Holy crap! I can't believe this happening. Thank you God. Thank you fans, country radio for playing my songs, Broken Bow Records for signing me and giving me this opportunity." I can tell that she is so excited up there. I'm so proud of her. When she finished her speech, I run backstage to congratulate my girl.
