Burnin' It Down

Chapter Ten

Jason's POV
Ryan and I are headed to Georgia to pick up my girls. I can already tell that Ryan is really nervous. She has been quiet ever since we got in the truck. "Hey, why are you so quiet over there?" I ask Ryan grabbing her hand. "Jason, what if your girls hate me? I would be devastated if they did." She says looking at me. "Baby, I promise that they are going to love you. How could they not?" I say reassuring her and kissing her knuckles.

We pull up to Jessica's, my ex wife, house and the girls come running out. Ryan and I hop out of the truck and I kneel down just in time to catch Keeley and Kendyl. "There's my girls!" I say wrapping my arms around them. I let go of the girls and turn towards Ryan, who is standing off the side smiling. "Keeley, Kendyl, this is Ryan." I tell the girls. They smile and run over to her and give her a hug. Jessica walks outside and stands in the porch giving me a dirty look. I tell the girls to stay with Ryan and I walk up to the porch. "So Jason, how long is this one gonna stick around?" Jessica says rudely when I make it to the porch. "Trust me, she's not going anywhere. I love her."

Ryan's POV
I'm standing by the truck hanging out with the girls and I can't help but take quick glances at Jason and Jessica. I'm trying not to make it obvious but Jason catches me looking and smiles. Jason comes walking back to the truck and we load up the girls and their stuff and hit the road back to Nashville. Jason's new album came out a few days ago and I keep watching it climb the charts. I'm so proud of him and it makes me even more excited for my new album to come out in a few weeks.

We pull up to the house in Nashville and the girls are sound asleep in the backseat. "Awe, they look so cute and I don't want to wake them." I tell Jason as we get out of the truck. Jason carries Keeley while I carry Kendyl and we take them upstairs. I lay Kendyl down in her bed and quietly make my way back to the hallway. I shut Kendyl's door and turn to meet Jason. "I told you the girls would love you." Jason says wrapping his arms around me and lightly pushing me up against the wall. "You were right. Let's go to bed." I say to him kissing him roughly. Before long, we had made it to the bedroom stripping each other's clothes and making love until we couldn't keep our eyes open.
