Chapter Sixteen

Ryan's POV
I woke up this morning to my water breaking. Of course, Jason wasn't here because he was in Vegas at the award show. I'm now in the hospital with my mama and Jason's mama waiting for Jason to get here. I'm literally in the middle of a contraction when my phone starts ringing. "Hello." I say as I'm breathing through the pain. "Baby, I just landed in Nashville. I'm on my way. You doing ok?" Jason asks on the other end of the phone. "I'm doing fine. I just need you here." We exchange I love yous and hang up.

"Ryan, honey it's time to push." The nurse says after she checks me. "No I can't yet. Jason isn't here." "Yes I am." I hear Jason say as he walks in the room. Thank God! I didn't want to bring Jaxon into the world without him. It's not long before they are wheeling me off to the delivery room. "Alright, Ryan it's time to push." The doctor says after he puts his gloves on. I push until I hear the cries of my precious baby boy.

Jason's POV
Watching Ryan bring our son into the world was the most amazing and beautiful thing that I've ever seen. Jaxon Tate was born at 1:26pm on February 10th. Ryan is sleeping while the nurses have Jaxon in the nursery getting him ready for visitors. I decide to walk down to the nursery and have them bring Jaxon to the room so he will be there when Ryan wakes up. When I walk back into the room, Ryan is already awake texting on her phone. "Who are you texting gorgeous." I ask her as I walk to her bed and give her a kiss. "Texting Mama to run by the house to get my yoga pants. I forgot to grab them in my way out the door." She says with a laugh.

We get to go home today. We have been in the hospital for a couple days but we finally get to go home. Ryan just finished getting dressed and I'm putting Jaxon in his car seat. Ryan walks up behind me and wraps her arms around my waist. "He's perfect isn't he." She says looking at Jaxon. "He gets it from his mama." I tell her as I turn around and kiss her. "Let's go home." I say grabbing Jaxon and the bags and walking out of the room.
