Truth of Snow

Chapter 1

I step off the plane to feel the sun beating down on my face. Damn it sure is hot. I start walking out of the airport looking at my surroundings. I look at the scrap of paper where Linda wrote Jax's address for me. 1057 Hill Road. I start looking for a taxi. I try to flag down one but the driver keeps on driving. A whistle rings through the air and a taxi stops right in front of me. I peer around me curious.

I see a guy walking away. "Hey thank you!" I yell.

"For what?" he says.

"For flagging down the taxi for me, of course."

"For you!?! I actually called it for me but decided I'd rather take the bus," he says walking away.

I stare wide eyed, incredulous even. The people in this city are weird I think getting in the taxi.

"Can you take me to this address?"

"Alright ma'am," he responds.

The drive went on for about half an hour. I honestly think I got a few bruises from all the bumps in the road. I see the taxi stop in front of a normal looking building.

"We're here miss."

I step out of the car while the driver takes out my bags which I only brought two of.

I pay him the fare and walk inside the building. I see a list of the tenants and it says Jaxon Gallagher 4th floor apartment 415.

"Alright," I say stepping into the elevator. I get off at the 4th floor. I peer around for Apartment 415. I finally find it at the corner of the floor. I walk up to the door and knock on it softly at first and then loudly. No one answers or opens. I push open the door calling out, "Hello? Jaxon?"

I walk into a room guessing it's the living room. The sight before me makes my knees tremble. My bags drop to the ground. Jaxon stares at me shocked, pulling his body and lips away from the girl.
"Huh....Funny how you proclaim to love me and I find you on top of another girl doing god knows what," I proclaim stopping the tears.

"I guess you were playing with me. I guess you probably lost your feelings for me. Or maybe you didn't love me at all. And here I was thinking the guy I love loves me back," I say running away.

"Eva wait!" I hear

But I don't wait.....I don't stop.
