Phil and I walk for about 30 minutes. The sun is ready starting to set, painting the sky orange and pink. I look down at our intertwined hands and smile to myself.
I can see the lights of the fair in the distance. We arrive at the entrance and walk up to the ticket booth.
"Two tickets please," I ask the lady in the booth.
"Ok, that'll be ten pounds," she says sweetly.
"I can pay," Phil says pulling out some money.
"No, let me," I tell him.
"No, let me pay for you,"
"Phil, I'm paying and you can't do anything about it."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure,"
"Are you sure your sure?" Phil asks.
"Yes," I respond and hand the lady my money. I give Phil a quick peck on the lips and take our tickets. The women in the booth smiles warmly at us as we walk into the fair.
"So, what ride should we go on first?" I question.
We decide to go on the carousel. We get in line and wait for our turn. Once it's our turn I sit on one of the horses and Phil sits on the one next to me. The ride starts to move and play music. I don't care if this is supposed to be for little kids, I still love it. I love over at Phil, who is already staring at me. We just stare into each other's eyes until the carousel stops.
We get off and walk around deciding on which ride to go on next. We decide to go on a spinning ride. After that we go on a few more rides, including bumper cars where Phil and I got really competitive with the other five year olds on the ride. I'm just a competitive person, even with little kids. Although there were some teens on the bumper cars so I didn't feel too awkward.
"Should we get some candy floss?" I ask Phil as we get off the bumper cars.
"Yeah! But let me pay, ok?" He says.
"Fine." I respond.
We get in line and wait. There's some kid about our age standing in front of us. He doesn't have enough money or something. I just wish he would hurry up and leave so Phil and I can get our food. However, Phil steps forward and gives the boy the money he's missing. Phil is just too sweet.
"Hey, aren't you from my school? You in my English class right?" The boys asks Phil.
"Oh yeah I am. I'm Phil,"
"I'm Charlie. Thanks again, bye!" Charlie says and walks off with his food.
"Your so nice," I tell Phil after he orders our candy floss.
"I just like making people happy," he replies smiling.
"Well you certainly make me happy," I say pulling Phil into a kiss.
We take our candy floss and walk around looking at some of the games. We try a few games to attempt to win a prize but we both fail. It was still fun though and we just laughed at our mistakes.
"How about we go on the Ferris wheel now?" Phil perks up.
"Yeah let's go!"
We get in our own little cart and the Ferris wheel starts to move. I look up at the beautiful stars that light up the night.
"It's so beautiful," I hear Phil say as he leans his head on my shoulder.
"Your beautiful," I say and Phil blushes. He turns his head so we're both looking straight at each other. I lean closer, as does Phil, and give him a long meaningful kiss.
