Chapter 19

Wow this story is terrible I ReAlLy want to finish it

Dan's POV

I woke up the morning after Christmas, the sun wasn't even up yet. That's weird.

I checked my phone for the time, 4:37. I groan and climb out of bed. I groggily make my way down the stairs, maybe something to drink will help me go back to sleep. I reach the bottom of the stairs when I hear a distressed voice sound from the kitchen.

"Oh Jessica, I'm so sorry.." I recognize my moms voice. Why is she up so early? And what's going on? I stand outside of the kitchen and listen to my mom as she talks on the phone.

"Yes. I'll make sure I stop by this afternoon, when everyone is awake. I'm sorry, bye," and she hangs up.

I step into the kitchen, "mom? Who was that?"

She looks up at me, tears welling in her eyes.

"Oh mom," I whisper and help her stand up and walk to the couch. We sit down on the couch while I hug her and rub her back.

"Mum, what's happened?" I ask gently.

"Oh honey, Phil and Jessica are at the hospital. I think it's pretty bad," she lets out a choked sob.

I feel myself start to cry as well.

"What happened?" I ask her.

"It-it's Jessica's husband, he, oh god Dan he beats them. I can't believe I didn't know. They released Jessica because he didn't hurt her too bad. But Phil, I don't know how bad it is, Jessica sounded awful," and she started to cry again.

I continue to cry, holding onto her.

So now we're on our way to the hospital. It about noon. We called the hospital and learn that Phil was severely beaten by his father, even thrown down the stairs, which caused one of his the crack or something.

We enter the hospital, and walk towards where Jessica said she was. We find her in the waiting room. Her eyes are red and she has multiple bruises on her face.

We talk to her for a while, talking about what happened. How he just snapped. How he punched her, and how Phil tried to stop him. Phil tried to save his mom. He attacked his dad to get him away from Jessica. This just caused Phil's dad to throw him down the stairs and continue to beat him. He even continued to beat Phil after he had passed out.

My heart ached for Phil and I was full of rage. I was so angry at Phil's dad.

Finally we got up and walked towards Phil's hospital room. My parents and Phil's mom let me go in first, so I could get a few minutes with him by myself, which I was grateful for.

I pushed open the door, Phil was lying in the hospital bed. He was fast asleep. I took a seat next to his bed.

"Phil, I'm so sorry," I whispered as I took his hand in mine and kissed it.

I put my head down, staring at my shoes.

"Dan!"

I look up and see Phil wide awake, smiling widely. He reaches out and pulls me onto the bed, hugging me tightly. I chuckle and pull him closer.

"I was so worried," I whisper into his hair.

"Dan.." he says, sounding much sadder than before.

I release him from the hug and look into his eyes, which are teary.

"Phil.."

"It was so scary Dan."

Tears start to run down his face as he sobs into my shirt. I just hold him closer, as close as I can.

"I know, I know."

After a few minutes everyone else came into the room. My parent both have Phil giant hugs. I had asked Phil where his dad was.

His dad was on his way to prison. Phil and his mom were finally free.

After Phil recovered, him and his mom stayed at my house for awhile, which was pretty nice. They stayed until Jessica had a secure job and could buy a nice house and had a steady income. Phil and I still go to the same school, it's our last year. We plan on going to the same college, and we definitely plan to stay together forever.

I'm so happy Phil is finally free from his dad. He finally has a normal happy life. I couldn't be happier for him. He also seems so much happier, he's almost never sad.

I think we've got a great future ahead of us.

As you can probably see I really wanted to finish it, it's not too good of a story.

However, I'm about to start writing a new story and hopefully it'll be much better than this one.
