CHAPTER 2
I jumped out of the car the moment Emmett stopped and rushed towards the two people who'd raised me.
“Mom! Dad! I’ve missed you sooo much!” I yelled, giving my mother, Esme a tight hug.
“Oh, we’ve missed you too dear, so much.”
Unwillingly, I let go of my mom and hugged my farther, Carlisle.
“Lilly, it’s been to long.” he smiled, hugging me back.
I smiled too, I missed having this family family.
“Where are Alice and Jasper?” I asked.
“Hunting.” Dad sighed.
“Carlisle, we should go into the house,” Edward said, with his arm around Nicole.
“He has yet to tell what we are,” I said in a low voice, so only my family could hear.
“Edward,” Carlisle said. “The wolf pack will be furious. I understand you and Bella didn‘t work out, but it is still our duty to protect her, she knows too much and now you're bringing another girl home.”
“That’s not all…” I said, as I walked through the brightly lit living room to the kitchen to look for food. Blood is ok but I prefer human food. I looked in all the cupboards until I found what I was looking for; barbeque flavored chips, my favorite.
I walked in to the living room and plopped down on the shockingly white sofa. Nicole looked at me curiously, she still had the instinct to run and run fast. I smiled at her and patted the spot next to me. She was standing awkwardly in the corner as Em, Rose, Edward, Mom and Mad were in deep conversation.
“Chip?” I asked, smiling.
She nodded, still looking frightened.
“Why is everyone freaking out?” She asked, sitting down and pulling a chip from the packet.
I thought about it for a second
"HELP!" I thought, hoping the others would hear. "She’s asking me questions I can’t answer!"
Edward was there in a flash.
“Carlisle is going to do an ultra sound, to check on the baby.” He said.
“But it’s to early, maybe the test was false after all it’s only been a few days. I mean there’s no possible way, right?” She asked, searching for answers in our faces.
The doorbell rang. I opened it to see Bella’s bright shiny face, and she was holding hands with Jake.
“Bella!” I said “it’s so good to see you!” I gave her a hug.
“I heard you were back in town, so I decided to stop by.” she grinned at me.
“Hey Jake,” I said giving him a quick squeeze.
“Hey Lillypad, how’s my favorite-” Jacob stopped when he saw Edward’s glare. “Person.” he finished, saving himself.
“I’m pretty good. How’s the pack?” I asked.
“Going well.” He said.
I could tell he wanted to go into more detail, but Edwards’s death glare wouldn’t let him.
“Edward!” Carlisle’s voice rang through the house, it was strained and held hints of worry. “Come see this.”
Edward flew past in inhuman speed.
“What’s going on?” Bella asked.
“Edward brought home a new girlfriend.” Emmett said.
I followed Edward, curious as to what was going on.
“I can’t see it, it’s like there’s something blocking it.” Carlisle was saying in a low voice.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” Nicole asked, her voice dripping with concern
“Now would be a nice time to tell her,” I said, loud enough so Nicole could hear.
“Tell me what?” She demanded.
Edward glared at me.
“Hey, I would want to know what’s going on, because it seems like this is a permanent situation, or semi-permanent” I shugged.
“What’s going on?” Jake asked.
“I would like to know the same thing.” Nicole said, her forehead crumbled with confusion.
“Jacob, Lilly, why don’t we give Edward and Nicole some privacy as Edward explains.” Carlisle murmured.
We both nodded and went to the living room.
