chapter 5: A walk in the park..right?
"You know Evett..I never seen you like this before." Dagan comments as I peer around the corner, searching for something. His eyes watch from the door as my body agilely moves from place to place.
"Strong mined, dedicated..." He continues his speech while I raise a brow, knowing were this was going. In one hand I carried a plastic bag which I would use monetary once I found what I was looking for. The whiteness of the room blinded me with the high lights upon the ceiling hit the counters around me so clearly.
"And working in my bathroom." He finishes, making me crash and burn. Why did he have to mention that?
"Put a cork in it!" I hiss swiftly turning to face him before spotting my target.
"So this was what you called me up for? It was just to empty your garbage can?!" Admittedly grabbing the can with one of my glove covered hands, I dump of what little remains of discarded tissue paper along with some soda cans that laid at the bottom into the plastic bag. After all laid waste within the bag, I tied the top into a knot before carelessly tossing it onto a near by cart outside the room.
"How lazy can you rich folk be?"
"Evett." Dagan warns through his silk voice, which caught my attention as soon as he grabbed me roughly by the shoulders.
"I can fire you for your attitude you known that right? So I suggest you do your job or find another high paying one, which I doubt there is out there." His smirk irritated me to no ends as he finally let go of his hold on me while I made a little distance between us.
"Besides, what else would we have maids for if we wanted to clean our own home?" He adds playfully, taking a seat on one of his many couches within his king sized room.
"Your right. What was I thinking?" Thankfully I bit back my sarcasm and remained standing, finally realizing there was something else I had to do.
"Where's Elli?" I ask lightly, shifting my weight to the side in which made my black hair sway to the right.
"She's with my mom in the kitchen..why?" Dagan inquires with a skeptical gaze.
"Oh I was thinking of taking her to the park today. Your mother thought it would be good for her and Elli wanted too."
"You know a maid cant just walk out with a child right? You need a supervisor." Dagan leans his body forward, resembling a model pose as he stared upward through his long , dark eyelashes. How I envied him for being gifted with such beautiful lashes.
"I never heard of such." I plop my body onto a near by chair, hopping he wouldn't notice my constant stare.
"Well for this family you do." He states as a butler came into the room and left a cup of steaming coffee upon the small table between us. With a small bow he walked back to wherever he came from.
"Are you assigning me to one of your butlers?" I whisper as the man left, closing the door behind him while doing so.
"Of course not." Dagan says, drinking down some of the coffee.
"You friend Jeremy than?" He shakes his head at this and places the cup back onto the table.
"He's busy at the moment."
"Well then whom? Casper the ghost?" I roll my eyes, sinking deeper into the chair with my arms crossed against my chest.
"Moi." He declares, confusing me to what he said.
"Huh? I don't speak idiot." I smile smugly as he looks up sternly, not liking my statement.
"I said me, and that's French for you miss poor education." He flashes a wicked smile as my smirk vanishes.
