"It was an accident; you don't have to blame yourself."Elli says as I disinfect the small cut, a part of me relived that it was shallow. As of this moment, I have Elli sitting on the counter as I poured a little bit of medicine over the wound on her leg. There were times I can't believe my own stupidity. One minute I was holding a crystal glass plate, and then the next; it shatters and sends a small piece embedding itself into Elli's right leg.

"An accident or not, it was still my fault."I mutter lowly, seeing Dagan was right behind me and cleaning up glass that lies upon the tile floor. The man has impeccable timing.

Turning back, I notice Elli muttering under her breath about something. I could have sworn I heard her say something about me being as stubborn as a mule.

"You say something?" I glance to the girl, seeing her stop mid sentence.

"Nope." She says innocently, her blue orbs looking about the place. The little liar.

"Well everything is cleaned up. What caused you to drop the plate anyway?" I hear Dagan say from behind me, dumping the last of the broken glass into a trash can that was hidden in a separate closet.

"I was clumsy." I say simply, my eyes still on the cut as I place a band aid on it. At least it gave me a reason not to look at the man for a second. I don't know why I can't bring myself to face him at the moment, but I was hoping it didn't have to deal with what Elli had told me before the incident.

"I can believe that." I hear him sigh; his foots steps nearing me at a casual pace.

"So no blood?"

"Not one drop."I help Elli on to ground, hearing her say she needed to go upstairs and get something. Why at times like theses she always left me alone with him? Did she have an inner radar that said,

"Hey, Evett wants to avoid Dagan so why not leave the two alone?" It was just bloody brilliant.

"Good." He remarks, watching the Elli leave. He then looks over to me with a slight frown.

"You're still blaming yourself." He comments, causing me to roll my eyes slightly. I now people could read me like a book at times but, they usually don't have tell me how I'm feeling.

"Like I said, I was clumsy."I try to move, but Dagan blocks my way. Damn him for being tall!

"Why does it seem that you been depressed as of late." He studies me, as though trying figure out what was wrong with me by just standing there.

"Depressed?"I repeat absently, pretending I had no idea what he was talking about.

"Yes, you seem to be looking down as of late." He explains, still not moving an inch.

Oh I don't know...maybe your sweetheart has something to do with it. I though crudely.

"You know the floor is quite interesting now and days." I remark, trying to get around the subject.

"Evett, please tell me what is bothering you."He says tiredly, leaning a little back so we had some space. I quickly use this advantage to side past him, waltzing away with a slimmer of hope he wouldn't follow.

"Nothing is bothering me." I artlessly clarify while heading out of the kitchen and toward the stairs. I just remembered I have forgotten to do something upstairs, or at least I pretend to anyway. Like he would know what I had to do. Yet, when I'm already on the third step, the man quickly heads to where I was, his blue eyes filled with determination.

"You're in denial. I can see it in your eyes" He remarks simply, now just a few feet away from me.

"Well my eyes are lying then. Because I am perfectly content-" I turn to face him, but find my foot not quite working with me and accidentally slip. Luckily someone was there to catch me. Well not exacting.
