Part 8: School rides and Press Issues
I tried. I really really tried to convince Dagan but nothing worked. His mind was set and now here I was, standing outside my apartment building, waiting to see the one of the many limos's that Dagan had promised. I never even mentioned I had a uniform but why bother when he would see anyways.
It was a dusty gray shirt with the words FHS engraved in bright blue with yellow outlining at the left side of my shoulder blade. Like most schools that carried uniforms, the girls mostly wore skirts while the boys wore pants. Thankfully this is the 20th-century and girls were allowed to wear pants, which I gladly took.
The pants though were a navy blue with yellow strips running down to the bottom. Hey, it's better than wearing a short, skimpy skirt that just dared for the wind to blow over every given second. Trust me, I tried it once, and it didn't to end well.
But pushing aside my uniform, my dark hair was placed in a high ponytail with parted bangs that somewhat hidden my right eye. As for my face, I just dusted a little bit of cover up with a hint of blush. My eyes held some eyeliner and a tad of dark gray eye shadow that complimented my uniform.
Sighing, I find my gaze still lingering to the empty streets. My bag was gradually getting heaver by the second, and Dagan was four minuets late, way to show kindness if you're behind schedule.
Letting my mind drift, I scarcely caught the sound of smooth tires come to a halt beside my form. Turing my head to the side in wonderment, I find Dagan's dazzling blue eyes star up from the window. Forgetting for a second, I stared blankly, trying to search from the depths of my mind of who the handsome visitor might have been even though in the back of my head it screamed Dagan's name repeatedly.
"Mind getting in before some reporter finds me here?" The dazed expression on my face snapped back into reality. His voice never seemed to fit with his amazing eyes.
"And here I thought you'd sound nicer." I said calmly, trying to keep what little control I had over my mouth.
"I am being nice, I'm giving you a first class ride aren't I?" He retorts back, glaring up before placing some black shades over his eyes. Is he trying to act cool or something?
Rolling my eyes, I got a better look of the car. It was a black Rolls Royce Phantom with tinted windows and sleek interior that practically made me drool. God, this was my dream car and it was being handed to me on a silver platter!
Without thinking, I edged a little closer to the front, staring with wide eyes and very eager to hop right in. Thankfully though I stopped myself from almost petting the car and backed away slowly, praying Dagan hadn't notice my strange behavior and quickly put on a fake, disappointed appearance.
"You said we were taking a limo." I say, remembering how he remarked on taking me in one of his many limos. In response he just shrugged.
"I thought you didn't want to be seen in one?" He remarks before I hear the door click from the right side.
"You better get in now, that guy at the far corner isn't just some passing bystander." He comments as I stride over to the other side, trying hard not to rush over and giggle like a crazed schoolgirl.
When I seated myself on the passenger side, I find the bystander that Dagan had points out was now beside my window, a huge lends camera staring me dead in the face.
