Holding On To You

Chapter 34

"Which one looks better?" I asked, holding up two dresses.

One was gold, which was pretty simple. It was metallic gold and had a small cut-out in the back. The other one was blue, the top was beaded and it also had a cut-out in the back. I was leaning towards the gold one, only because I felt like the color looked better on me than blue, but I liked the beaded part on the blue one.

"Gold. Looks better on you than blue," Liz said and looked back down at the dress she was looking at.

Liz and I were prom shopping. It was our second time coming to this store for prom dresses, but I didn't like the dresses too much. It was barely short of a miracle that I had found two dresses that I liked.

"How about this one?" Liz asked me and held up a lilac dress.

"Yes! Oh my God, yes, that is the best dress so far!" I exclaimed happily.

The lilac looked stunning on Liz and I was happy that one of us was making progress.

Liz emerged from the dressing room and did a quick little spin. It looked so good on her, it made me a bit jealous.

"You're getting this one," I said.

Liz nodded her head in agreement before heading back to change.

I looked back down at the dresses in my hands. I was liking the gold one, it stood out to me, but there were also other dresses that stood out to me. I was just being indecisive, but it was only because I wanted to look amazing for once in my life.

"How about this one?" Liz asked and shoved a gold dress in my face.

I held it away from my face and took a good look at it. It was similar to the other gold dress that I was holding but the best part was that it was beaded, like the blue one. Well, that was the second best part. The first best part was that it stood out to me, a lot. I loved it. I wanted it.

"I love it," I took it into my hands, inspecting the design.

"Yeah? I thought you would. Go try it on," Liz said happily and pushed me towards the dressing room.

I headed into the dressing room to make sure it fit, which it did, almost perfectly. It was a little long, but that would be good with my heels.

We bought our dresses and went into a jewelry store to see if we could find any earrings that matched our dresses. I didn't have any gold earrings so I'd need to buy some.

Honestly I couldn't care less about any accessories yet, I was just glad that we had found our dresses. We had waited until the absolute last minute to look, of course, both of us had looked online, but we hadn't found anything we liked.

Prom was this weekend, and we had about two days to finish our outfit. I had a pair of strappy gold heels that were about five inches, so my feet would be just about dead by the time the night was done, but I doubted that Will would care if I took my heels off. Besides, five inches would make me just about the same height as Will, which was good because I hated to be shorter than someone.

Liz had found some silver earrings that she was buying, but I couldn't really find any earrings that I liked.

After we exited, we headed straight for the food court. Will and Mase were going to meet us there so we could show them the color of our dresses.

First, we bought some ice cream and found a table to sit at. While we waited, Liz kept looking for heels online that would go with her dress.

"Hey," Will said and my head snapped up.
