Chapter 26

I thanked the lady and grabbed my bag, walking out of the store hand in hand with Will. We were shopping today, and so far, Will and I were carrying four bags each. I probably went a little overboard, but I wanted to buy clothes, and Will had bought some too.

"So are we going to get some lunch, then?" Chris asked.

"Yeah, I'm starving," Liz complained.

"Okay, let's find somewhere," Mase said.

We walked until we found a nice place to eat, and we went in.

Lunch went smoothly, until Matt shot me a look. I knew that he was planning on telling Will, Chris and Liz that he was bi, today. I shot him a reassuring look. Matt sent me a text after a few minutes.

I'm scared

From: Ray Ray

you'll be okay, matt! chris is gay, liz is your best friend, and will is my boyfriend, who has nothing against gay people! they're all still going to love you.

I sent the text and Matt took a few deep breaths. We were all sitting in silence, eating our food, since we were so hungry after shopping for so long.

"Uh, guys?" Everyone looked up and I shot him a supportive smile. "I think I'm- uh, bi."

Liz flashed a smile and reached over to give him a hug. Will joined the hug after a few seconds. Chris just stood up and said he was going to the bathroom. Matt was smiling, but I could tell that he was worried about what Chris was thinking. I gave him a quick hug, too, but I was also wondering why Chris left so abruptly.

"So, this doesn't change anything?" Matt asked softly.

"No! Unless you want it to?" Liz asked.

"No, I want everything to be exactly the way it was," Matt said, looking over at the door where Chris had went into.

"Okay, let's go," Chris said abruptly as he came back to the table.

We paid and left the restaurant. It was weird that we had left so soon, but we could all tell that Chris really wanted to leave, and Matt wanted to talk to him.

We had a short walk back to the hotel, it was about fifteen minutes away.

"You don't seem too surprised," I told Will as we were walking.

"He may have accidentally told me," Will said.

"When?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

"That day when he was driving me to my doctor's appointment," Will said.

"Really?" I asked.

"I don't think he was completely sure, though. It was like he was asking himself," Will said.

We walked back to the hotel, and we went straight up to our rooms. I was exhausted and I wanted a nap. As I set my bags on the floor, someone knocked on the door. I opened it, and Matt stood there.

"Can I stay with you here? I don't think Chris wants me in there," Matt said, and I could see the hurt in his eyes.

"Come here," I said and opened my arms to him.

Matt walked into my arms and I stroked his hair gently.

"I don't know what I did wrong," Matt said.

"Yeah, me either. It's weird, you guys were okay this morning, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, I guess he's upset that I'm bi," Matt said, his grip on me tightening.
