Aria's POV
"How are you?" I walked into Janelle's hotel room.
"I'm getting by. How are you doing? I haven't seen you in a while." She gave me a hug.
"I'm doing fine. James is back and I'm the happiest woman on earth." I told her.
"I'm glad you two are doing great. You guys were meant for each other." She rubbed my arm.
"What did you need to tell me?" I asked her.
"I want you to help me win Cain back."
I froze. "Are you serious?"
She simply nodded. "I realized that Cain is the love of my life and I can't live without him, Aria. Please help me."
So many things were floating in my head. Cain had just told me that he is over Janelle already. She has no chance of winning him back.
"Let me think about this." I left her sitting down on the futon and walked out her room. I didn't know what else to say.
I rushed out of there and got in my car. I drove back to Cain's home. I needed to tell him.
"Cain!" I set my stuff down and went looking for him.
I went up to his room and opened the door.
"Jesus, Aria!"
Cain was getting out of the shower wearing just a towel around his waist.
"Sorry, sorry. I just need to tell you what Janelle said." I told him.
He was drying his hair with a towel. "What did she say?"
"She wanted me to help her win you back." I explained.
His eyes widened. "What did you say?!"
"I told her I was going to think about it and just ran!" I told him.
"You should have said no, Aria! I'm over her. I don't want her back, never." He replied.
"I couldn't say that to her face. I can tell she really cares about you."
"You've got to be joking. Aria, you saw her with Marc and Lily saw them too!" He was raising his voice.
"Maybe she changed." I said softly.
Cain scoffed. "I don't want her back, Aria. I'm going to move on and so should she."
"If you really cared about her you should give her another chance. Everybody makes mistakes."
"What did you do to the real Aria, because the one talking to me is clearly not her."
A smile appeared on my face. "Okay, I'm sorry, Curly."
"There she is!" He chuckled.
He pulled me in for a hug and I patted him on his naked back.
"Am I interrupting something?" James cleared his throat.
"Can't you see?" Cain told him.
"Cain!" I yelled at him and he chuckled.
"I know this is your house, but can you at least put some clothes on in front of my girlfriend?" I moved closer to James and tried to calm him down.
"I just got out of the shower and don't worry, Aria has seen me like this, man."
"Cain, stop." I said to him and pulled James out of Cain's bedroom.
Before closing the door I starred back at Cain and shook my head at him.
"I want us to go to a hotel. I can't stand him." James said.
"I'm sorry about that. It's not what it looks like, I promise. Cain is a close friend and you know it."
"It looks like he wants more than a friendship from you." He turned his back on me and went in the room he was staying in.
I let him go so he can calm down. I wasn't in the mood to argue with him right now. I went back up to my room instead. I sat on my desk and looked at the blueprint Cain had worked on all week long. I sat down and finished completing my part of the job. I looked at the final draft and it looked great. This hotel is defiantly going to be a five-star. At least I'm hoping it will be.
"Can I come in?"
"You're already in, so might as well." I continued finishing some small sketches. I felt Cain's presence behind me.
"It's looking amazing, Aria."
I placed my pencil down. "This is both our work, Cain."
"Let me know when it's finished so I can go into my office and make the final blueprint on my computer."
"We'll go tomorrow. We just have to check in with the boss first." The boss is the one who let me be in charge of this project.
"I'm sorry if I caused any trouble between you and James." He said as he sat down on the bed.
"Just don't provoke him. He thinks you are trying to make a move on me." I told him.
"We're best friends, Aria. I love you and care about you." That was the first time I heard Cain say that.
"Why can I never be mad at you?" I crossed my arms.
A smile quickly formed on his face and he laughed out loud. "Am I that charming?"
"I love you and care about you, too. Now let me sleep."
He got up and lightly pinched my cheeks. "Goodnight, princess."
