Cain's POV

My mom's eyes went wide when she saw my father. Her face went pale.

"I'll come some other time." I quickly said and stood up getting ready to leave.

I couldn't even look at his face. I starred at the ground when I passed him, but he grabbed my arm.

"Son, don't leave." He said.

"Don't call me that, you piece of-" I spit out.

"Honey, please let him go." My mom interrupted.

I slowly raised my head up and looked at him. He looks way older than before. His hair is turning gray and bags are forming under his eyes.

"I am your father and you will respect me in my house." He told me.

I yanked my arm from him and he looked shocked. I quickly walked away from him.

"Cain! Come back here!" He yelled with anger.

I ignored him and walked fast.

In a second I heard my mom yell. "Richard!"

I turned around and my mom was running to my dad's side. I saw him tumble to the ground holding his left arm.

"Mary! Call 911!" The maid hurried to the telephone.

"Richard, please don't leave me!" My mom was crying her eyes out.

I ran to my parents. I held my mom in my arms. I didn't know how to feel. One thing I was sure about was that I don't want my dad to die.

I signed and ran my fingers through my hair for the hundredth time, waiting for the doctor to come back and inform us what happened.

My mom was walking back and forth, praying for my dad's life.

The doctor appeared and my mom ran to him. "How is he?"

"We did everything we could, but your husband is still in critical condition. We have to wait and see how he responds." The doctor said.

"Can we see him?" My mom pleaded.

"At the moment, no. I'm sorry. You'll have to wait until tomorrow."

"Thanks Doctor." I thanked the doctor and he nodded his head and left.

"I'm so sorry, mom. I didn't mean for all this to happen. It's all my fault." I sat back down and covered my face with my hands. I couldn't help, but feel guilty about this situation.

"I know you didn't mean harm, dear." She comforted me.

"Go home, mom. I'll stay here with my dad." I told her.

"No, I'm not going anywhere."

"Mom, please. You can't see him until tomorrow."

"Alright, but call me if anything comes up, anything." I walked her out to the car and told our driver to get her home safely.

I waved to her and went back inside the hospital. I grabbed a cup of coffee to keep me awake.

I took my phone out and scrolled down to Aria's name in my contacts list. I was hesitant to click on her name and talk to her. I missed Aria so much. I'm having a hard time right now and if she was with me, I would be much stronger. She gives me strength and comfort when I need it the most.
