Aria's POV
I was in the airport, waiting for my flight and I had to message Cain to see if he was going to pick me up when I land in San Francisco.
I got my phone out and let out sighed. I have enough courage to send a text. I could do this.
Hey...are you still picking me up at the airport? I'm landing at 5pm. -Aria
I pressed send and put my phone away. In a minute I felt my phone vibrate.
I'll be there. -Cain
He was quick. Means I was on his mind, maybe? A stupid smile appeared on my face.
Thanks, you're the best. -Aria
See you when you get here. -Cain
I was going to call him, but I figure it would be kind of awkward since we haven't spoken in a long time.
I got on the plane and I managed to get some sleep before landing. I got my heavy bags and started heading out towards the front. I was excited, but nervous at the same time to see Cain.
I was coming down the escalator when I saw him sitting down. I saw his head full of his perfect curls. I missed his hair when it was like this. He looked different, in a way. He got hotter, though.
He looked up at me and his eyes lit up. He gave me a beautiful smile and opened up his arms. I walked right into his embrace.
"I missed you, Aria." He said.
"I missed you too, Curly." I ran my fingers through his hair.
"How was the trip?" He asked, grabbing my suitcases from my hand.
"It was fun. Got to spend time with my family who I missed so much. How about you?" I asked him as we were walking out to his car.
"I had fun, too." He put my stuff in the back and opened the door for me.
We had small talk in the car while driving to his house. The house looked the same, big and pretty.
"I'll let you get settled in. I'm going out and won't be back until later. Call me if you need anything." He told me, placing my things in the room where I was staying.
"What time are you coming back? I was just thinking that we should have dinner together, here. You know, catch up." I said to him.
He placed his hands on his waist. "Uh, yea, but I'm going to have to go back to the hospital and-"
"Hospital? What's going on? Are you okay?" I worriedly asked.
"I'm fine, Aria. It's my dad. He's not doing so good and I have to be with my mom because she's worried sick." He sighed and looked at his feet.
"I'm sorry, Cain. Let me know if there's anything I can do, anything. Want me to come with you?" I placed my hands on his shoulders.
"No, it's fi-"
"I'm coming with you. I'm worried about you and your mom and your dad. I don't like seeing you like this." I grabbed my purse and stood in front of him.
