*Zander's POV*
"Is everything set up, babe? I want this to go smooth." I said placing silverware down on the dining room table.
"Yes, Zander. Everything is set up and everything will go perfect." Bria smiled walking in as she placed the salad bowl on the table. I took a seat on one of the dining room chairs and sighed. I've never been so nervous in my entire life. Tonight Bria and I have decided that its time to let my parents know they're going to be grandparents.
What if they don't think we're ready? Or think its bad because this baby is out of wedlock? Ugh! So many thoughts were running through my head I didn't even hear the doorbell ring. Bria came back and tapped me on the shoulder snapping me away from the unpleasant thoughts. She smiled grabbing my hand and walked to the front door.
Bria opened the door to reveal my parents standing there, my dad holding a gift bag. Bria stepped off to the side and let them walk through, going into the dining room. I looked over at Bria and gave her an unsure look. There is no way she's going to let me back out of this one.
"You didn't bring Kayden." I said taking a seat across from my mom.
"Andy's keeping an eye on him. We thought it would be nice for just the adults to sit and talk." She smiled over at me. I'm definitely an adult now since I'm having a child.
"Oh! Bria, Zander? I almost forgot." My dad said taking a bottle of red wine out of the gift bag. "I brought over some wine. Best wine in the state of California."
"I'll get some wine glasses." Bria said walking into the kitchen, She came out a second later carrying three glasses in her hand and placed them on the table. She set two in front of my parents and one in front of me. She gave me a small smile and took a seat next to me at the table.
"Bria? Would you like some?" My dad offered once he popped the bottle's cork.
"No thank you. None for me tonight." She smiled putting her hand on top of mine. "Well for a few months actually. We have news to tell you."
"We do too." My mom said looking up at my dad. He finished pouring wine into his glass and took a seat looking between Bria and me.
"Well, go first. We don't want to keep you waiting." Bria smiled.
"No, we came here for something special. Let's hear it." My mom said grinning from ear to ear.
"Bria'sgoingtohaveababy!." I blurted out in one sentence.
"Zander, slow down!" My dad laughed. "Now what's going on with Bria?"
"Bria's going to have a baby."
The room fell silent as both of their eyes landed on Bria. Oh, no! They're pissed! They are fucking pissed off!
"I'm getting a grandbaby!" My mom stood up and walked over to me and Bria. She wrapped her arms around the both of us and placed a kiss on each of our temples. "I'm so happy!" My mom went back to her seat and wiped her eyes with one of the napkins.
"Yep, so, Mom? What was the news you had to tell us?"
"Oh, well, you know how I wasn't feeling well the day we dropped you off?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah, did you see a doctor?"
"A few actually."
A few? How many doctors were there to see?! "Mom, just tell me I'm getting worried!"
She looked over at my dad and then back to me.
"Zander, I have cancer."
