*Ryker's POV*

"Hey mom.", I say and she smiles.

"Hey. Well something smells good.", she says and I laugh.

"Sage made it. You should try some.", I say and stand up.

I walk over to Sage and kiss her cheek.

"It's really good.", I whisper into her ear and she smiles.

"Arrow, did you make your bed?", my mom says and Arrow bolts up the stairs.

I laugh and then walk down the hall to the bathroom.

*Sage's POV*

I watch Ryker as he walks down the hall.

"Do you want me to make you a plate, Ms. Bobay?", I say and she turns to look at me.

"Sweetie that would be great.", she says and sits down at the table.

I walk over to the stove and place a few pancakes on her plate.

"I can tell Ryker is really happy.", she says and I smile.

"Yeah. He makes me happy.", I say and walk to the table and set the plate in front of her.

Before I walk away she grabs my hand and says, "Thank you."

"For what?", I say and she lets go.

"I haven't seen Ryker this happy since what happened to his father. Thank you for that.", she says and I give her a soft smile.

I'm about to say something but Ryker walks back into the kitchen.

"Hey what are you guys talking about?", he says and I look at him.

"Your mom was telling me how much she loves the pancakes.", I say and he smiles.

I don't think I should tell Ryker that I know about his dad. But I don't wanna keep something from him.

"What do you feel like doing today?", he says grabbing my hand.

"I don't know. You wanna go swimming at my house?", I say and he nods.

"Yeah that'll be fun. Let me just grab some swim trunks and then we'll head over.", he says and I smile.

I look back at his mom and she gives me a soft smile.

*Aspen's POV*

We sit down at a table with our food and I take huge bite out of my burger.

I look at Brody and he starts laughing.

"What? I'm hungry.", I say with a mouth full.

"Nothing.", he says and takes a bite out of his burger.

As we're eating, a few guys walk in and look in our direction. One of them locks eyes with me and winks. I look away and feel my cheeks get hot.

"You okay?", Brody says and I look at him.

"Yeah. I'm fine.", I say and continue to eat my food.

The guys walk over and sit at the table next to ours. I see Brody tense up, but I don't say anything.

"What time is it?", I say and Brody looks at his phone.

"It's about to be twelve-thirty.", he says and I nod.

I stand up to use the bathroom and walk past the table with the guys. Off the corner of my eye I see one of the guys stick their arm out. I turn around quickly and he backs off.

"Hey. Chill out.", he says and I scoff.

Brody stands up and walks over to me and stands in front of me.

"Don't talk to her like that.", he says and clenches his jaw.

I grab Brody's arm and pull him back.

"What are you gonna do?", the guy says and stands up.

Shit. I really don't wanna see this happen.

Brody pushes my arms away and pushes the guy back. The chuckles a little then throws a punch at Brody, hitting him in the jaw.

"Brody!", I yell and people turn in our direction.

Brody turns back to the guy and punches him twice. Once in the stomach, the other in his jaw.

"Stop.", I say and grab Brody's arm and pull him.

Then Brody turns and pushes me away, making me stumble. I look at him for minute just thinking what the hell is he doing?

*Brody's POV*

I look at Aspen and realize what I've just done. I pushed here. Hard too. I feel a pain in my chest and try and calm down.

"Aspen. I'm so sorry.", I say and feel a lump in my throat start to form. I told her I would never hurt. I promised.

She walks over and wraps her arms around me. I place my hands on her hips and kiss her head.
