"Hey Asp. Be honest, did y'all talk about me?" I finally ask.
She just smirks.
"Aspen?"
Nothing, just her sly smirk.
"Do you think they are here yet?" She asks.
"Highly doubt it." And as if it were meant to be they walk in.
"Perfect timing?" Aspen asks.
"You're a psychic." I nod knowingly.
"So? Do we talk to them or?" Aspen says in distress.
"Calm down. Just be natural. Let them come to us." I inhale deeply.
"Oh, look at the advice giver." She smiles.
"Shh. Don't tell anyone. I hate helping people when they aren't even going to listen." I smile.
I look back up and notice that they have become dangerously close to us.
"Our proximity gives me goosebumps." I tell Aspen.
"Who are you telling?" Her eyes widen.
"Hey Aspen." Brody begins.
"H-hey Brody." She smiles.
*Aspen's P.O.V*
Holy shit. Help. I need help. I'm going to mess this up. Oh god.
"I'm sorry I didn't get to say bye yesterday, parents." He explains.
"It's fine. No feelings h-hurt." I hesitate.
"Are you okay?" He smiles.
I shake my head no and then close my eyes.
God you're are so stupid.
"No you aren't. It's kinda cute." He answers.
"What?" I say confused.
"You said that out loud." He chuckles.
"Oh...." I laugh humiliated.
"Hey Aspen, can we talk?" Calvin asks.
"Who the hell are you?" Brody asks puffing up.
"Who are you?" He eyes him up and down.
"Brody." He crosses his arms across his chest.
"What do you want Calvin?" I ask.
"To talk. I know I messed up but-"
"Leave. She obviously doesn't want to. Leave before I turn you into pulp." He scowls.
My knight in shining armor.
"Whatever. I'll catch you later." He nods towards me and Brody turns terrifyingly slow towards me.
"Who is that?" He squints.
"My ex." I whisper.
"Speak up!" He yells.
"My ex." I say becoming more scared.
I don't like this side of him.
"You didn't consider to tell me about him?" He scoffs.
"Well I didn't know my personal and past life concerned you." I squinch my eyebrows together.
"Well it does. Anyone else I need to know about?" He asks harshly.
"Why is it your business?" I ask standing up making our lips millimeters apart.
"God dammit Aspen. Is it not obvious?!" He hollers.
"What?!" I yell back.
"Just, uh, oh my god, you are so clueless its frustrati-"
I did it.
I kissed him.
I tried to pull away but he deepened it.
Sage coughs awkwardly making us part.
"I'm, I'm sorry." I say desperately not wanting to find out what is coming next.
He says nothing and he has his same old unreadable expression on.
"Hello? Brody?" I wave my hand in front of his face.
Nothing.
Just as I was going to walk away he pulls me back in front of him and says, "thank you."
"For?"
"Doing something I was afraid to do."
