a/n: I'm bored lmao
~
It's been an hour and my parents are still talking with those guys I haven't seen before. I'm so.. bored. I forgot to charge my phone and I'm also without it so I'm just sobbing internally while smiling. It's annoying.
"Do you want something to eat?" the woman asks.
"I'm fine," my mum says. "Don't worry for us."
"Sure? Dan?"
"I'm okay," I answer too.
"If you want you can go upstairs and talk with Phil. He's not my son because we couldn't have one but we adopted him and.. yeah, he should be old like you," she smiles. "Go."
"It's okay, I'll stay here," I say. I don't want to interact with another guy right now, especially because it's late and I'm not in the mood.
"Don't be embarrassed," she smiles again.
"I'm okay," I say again. Jesus Christ, leave me alone.
We hear footsteps from the stairs and a guy who should be old like me appears. "Oh, good evening."
"Hi Phil," she smiles.
"I just need water, I'm not going to bother you. You can continue," he says and passes right next to me, then goes into the kitchen.
"Oh and, bring Dan upstairs with you! He's bored," the man says. Er, please no.
But he's not that bad, I guess I have to accept.
"I'm going to smoke," he says and goes away closing the door behind his back.
"I apologize, he's always that arrogant," his "mum" says.
"It's okay," I say. "Where did he go?"
"He usually sits on the stairs down the house, why?"
"I'm going," I say and I get up.
"Be careful," my mum says.
"Mum I'm not a child," I say and I go away. I go downstairs and he's really there smoking. "Hi," I speak louder.
He turns around and looks at me confused. "What are you doing?" I ask and I sit down next to him.
"Don't you see?"
"Yes, but-"
"I'm in a bad mood and I would like to stay alone," he says and throws the cigarette away.
"I'm sorry, I don't want to annoy you. What happened?"
"I don't even know you," he rolls his eyes and giggles.
"I know, but-"
"So what? Leave me alone."
"Wow, you really suck at interacting," I giggle. He looks at me like he could kill me and I bite my lip. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," he smiles. "I'm Phil."
"Your mum told me."
"She's not my mum," he says and takes another cigarette.
"Hey, I think one it's enough," I say. "Don't turn it on."
"You just came here with your perfect family and you want to tell me what to do?!" he asks.
"Don't yell at me," I mutter. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to comfort people."
"I don't want you to comfort me," he says and closes his eyes taking a breath from the cigarette.
"We should share it," I propose.
He doesn't even look at me and hands me it, I smile and I smoke too. "Thank you."
He nods and retakes it. "What's your name?"
"I'm Dan."
"Cool," he smiles and looks at me, he passes me it again.
"How are you?"
"Alone," he answers.
"You're not, you have a family and friends, and me," I say.
"And you?" he giggles. "Don't try to flirt with me because I don't like boys."
"What?! I'm not.. gay or something, you didn't understand," I lie.
"You totally look gay," he smiles. "I'm too, don't worry."
"Really?"
"Why am I telling this to you? God."
"Because we're friends," I smile. "Do you want to be friends?"
"Maybe, I don't know," he says and throws the cigarette away. "Dan."
"What?"
"I feel so alone and distant from everyone," he says.
"I'm sorry, I understand."
"I don't know where my real family is, I don't know anything about me," he whispers and looks at the stars. "I'm so.. scared."
"Of what?"
"I don't know."
"Don't," I smile. "Do you want an hug?"
"Don't touch me."
"You totally need it," I smile and I put two arms around his back. "It's okay to need hugs."
"Someone didn't hug me since years," he mumbles and hugs me back.
"I know Phil, it's okay," I answer and I don't break the hug. "It's okay."
"Why am I acting so fragile with you?"
"I don't know," I giggle.
"It's so weird," he laughs. "Thank.. you."
"You're welcome."
He goes away and smiles. "I need a walk."
"I'll accompany you," I say and I get up.
"No, alone. Really Dan, I need it," he says.
"Alright," I start to climb the stairs. "Be careful."
"See you," he smiles.
"Where and when?"
"Somewhere," Phil giggles.
"Bye," I say.
"Bye Dan, thank you."
I return back home and my mum smiles. "How did it go?"
"Well."
"Where is Phil?" the men asks.
"Doing a walk," I answer and I sit down. "Oh, Mrs.Lester.. he asked if you could give me his cellphone number because he wants to see me again."
I always dreamed to say that.
"Yes, I'll write you it on a piece of paper."
ILooks like we're going to meet again, Phil.
