Chapter 7

As they walked down the yellow brick road, Apple Bloom, Winona, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity suddenly found themselves in a dark and eerie forest that looked like the Everfree Forest back in Equestria, only more darker and scarier. "Ah don't like this forest!" Apple Bloom said. "It's-It's dark and creepy!" "Of course." Pinkie Pie said. "I don't know, but I think it'll get darker before it gets lighter." "Do-Do ya'll suppose we'll meet any wild animals?" Apple Bloom asked. "We might." Rarity said. "Oh." Apple Bloom said. Pinkie Pie gulped, and said "Animals that-that eat straw?" "Some, but mostly lions, tigers, and bears." Rarity said. "Lions?!" Apple Bloom asked. "Tigers?!" Pinkie Pie asked. Rarity nodded, and said "And bears." "Oh my!" Apple Bloom said. As they repeated the words they said earlier, they continued walking down the yellow brick road. Suddenly, they spotted a creature that is half lion, and half pony with a pale, light grayish rose mane, moderate cyan eyes, and three pink butterflies for her cutie mark, and Apple Bloom said "What sort of an animal is that?!" "It-It-It-It-It's a huge one!" Rarity said as she shook in fear." "D-D-D-Don't be frightened." Pinkie Pie said as she shook in fear. "I-I'll protect you. Oh, look!" The lion pony then jump down from the falllen tree, and went up to them as she said "Put'em up! Put'em up! Which one of you first?! I'll fight you both together if you want! I'll fight you with one paw tied behind my back! I'll fight you standing on one hoof! I'll fight you with my eyes closed!"

Rarity then held up her axe with her magic, and the lion pony said "Oh, pulling an axe on me, eh?" She looked at Pinkie Pie who attempted to sneak up on her, and said "Sneaking up on me, eh? Why?!" She snarled at them, and Rarity said "Here, here. Go away, and leave us alone!" "Oh, scared, huh?" The lion pony asked. Apple Bloom looked around as she trembled in fear. The lion pony looked at Rarity, and said "How long can you stay fresh in that can?" She laughed, and said "Come on, get up and fight, you shivering junk yard!" She looked at Pinkie Pie, and said "Put your hooves up, you lop-sided bag of hay!" "Now that's getting personal, lion pony!" Pinkie Pie said. "Yes. Get up, and teach him a lesson." Rarity said. "Well, what's wrong with you teaching him?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Well-Well, I hardly know her!" Rarity said. Winona then started barking at the lion pony who snarled at her, and said "Well, I'll get you anyway, pee-wee!" Winona then ran to Apple Bloom as the lion pony ran after the dog. Apple Bloom quickly slapped the lion pony who backed away from them, and started crying. "Shame on you!" Apple Bloom said. The lion pony sniffled, and said "What-What did you do that for?! I didn't bite him." "No, but you tried to!" Apple Bloom said. "It's bad enough picking on a straw pony, but when you go around picking on poor little dogs!"

The lion pony sniffled again, and said "Well, you didn't have to go and hit me, did you? Is my nose bleeding?" Apple Bloom looked at the lion pony's nose, and said "Well, of course not. Mah goodness, what a fuss you're making. Well, naturally, when you go around picking on things weaker than you are. Why, you're nothing but a great big coward!" The lion pony cried as she nodded, and said "I haven't got any courage at all. I even scare myself. Look at the circles under my eyes. I haven't slept in weeks." "Why don't you try counting sheep, darling?" Rarity asked. "That doesn't do any good." The lion pony said. "I'm afraid of them." "Oh, that's too bad." Pinkie Pie said. "Don't you think the Unicorn of Discorded Equestria could help her too?" "Ah don't see why not." Apple Bloom said. "Why don't you come along with us? We're on our way to see the Unicorn now. To get me home to Sweet Apple Acres in Equestria." "To get me a heart." Rarity said. "And to get me a brain." Pinkie Pie said. "Ah'm sure she could give you some courage." Apple Bloom said. "Well, wouldn't you feel degraded to be seen in the company of a cowardly lion pony?" The lion pony asked. "I would." "No, of course not." Apple Bloom said. "Gee, that's-that's awfully nice of you. My life has been simply unbearable." "Oh." Apple Bloom said. "What's your name?" "My-My name is Fluttershy." The lion pony said. "And if only I had the nerve, I would be as brave as a blizzard." Then they all walked together as they said "We're off to see the Unicorn of Discorded Equestria!"
