The three of us rode in my car to Deaton's clinic. Blaire sat up front while Scott sat in the back, though Blaire offered to sit in the back, Scott had insisted that she'd sit in the front. Scott had me park at the back of the clinic so we could go through the back entrance, because that's the easiest way for us werewolves to enter the building.
"Why are we at a vet clinic?" Blaire asked once I parked the car.
"He's not just a vet." Scott said.
"So, what? Is he like some sort of werewolf vet?" She asked. Scott chuckled.
"You could say that." He said as we entered the clinic.
"Hi Scott. Jett, how are you feeling?" Dr. Deaton asked.
"Well whatever I was drugged with, has some dangerous side effects." I explain.
"What kind of side effects?" He asked.
"Short temperament. Homicidal thoughts. Uncontrollable shifting." I stated. He contemplated for a moment.
"Not to mention increased strength." I added. "Increased strength?" He questioned.
"As in beyond werewolf strength. More like superhuman." I said. His brow furrowed before he turned to Scott. "Have you witnessed this superhuman strength?" He asked. Scott nodded.
"We both have." He said pointing to both himself and Blaire. Deaton nodded and faced me.
"May I see this strength?" He asked. My eyes widened and I shook my head.
"I refuse to hurt anyone else intentionally!" I growled. Deaton raised his hands in surrender.
"It's okay, Jett. I'm not asking you to hurt anyone. I just want to test your strength. Is that okay?" He reassured. I nodded.
"Okay, follow me." He said. We all followed him out back and he stopped at a nearby dumpster before pulling out two steel poles, handing one to Scott and one to me.
"I want both of you to bend the pole as far as you can with all your strength." He instructed. Scott and I nodded and we decided to have Scott go first. He started to bend the pole but once it reached a crescent moon shape he struggled. His eyes started glowing their vibrant alpha red and he managed to make the pole ends meet. Deaton turned to me and nodded. Without a second thought I went to bend the pole, but instead of bending, it snapped in half. All of us stared at the two pole pieces in my hands with wide eyes. Loosening my grip on the pole pieces, I saw that my hands made deep dents into it. The scary thing is, is that I didn't even put my werewolf strength into bending it.
"Holy-" Scott trailed off.
"Looks like we have ourselves a big problem." Deaton admitted. I sighed. "You don't say!" I said, sarcastically. We walked back into the clinic and stood around the examination room silently.
"Sorry I'm late, I was side tracked, talking to your mom, Jett." Melissa said as she entered the room.
"Is she okay?" I asked. She smiled.
"She's just fine, sweetheart." She reassured me. "So you called saying you needed my help?" She asked. I nodded.
"Could you check out Blaire's wrist?" I asked. She nodded and motioned Blaire over to her. Her eyes widened as soon as she saw it. "How on earth did this happen?" She asked. I looked down at the ground, shamefully. Thankfully, Scott came to the rescue.
"Jett and Blaire were attacked last night. The attacker injected Jett with some strange drug that gave him superhuman strength. All he did was grab her wrist protectively." He explained. She sighed.
"The supernatural world confuses me more and more each day." She said. Then she turned to Deaton. "Have you ever used your X-ray machine on a human being?" She asked. He shook his head.
"No, I haven't." He said. She patted his shoulder. "Well you will today." She said. He nodded. "Right this way." He stated before walking out of the room, with Ms. McCall and Blaire following close behind. After a few minutes, they re-entered the room.
"Well it's definitely broken. We are going to have to reset the bone before casting it." Ms. McCall said. I looked down at the ground, shamefully.
"Jett come hold her hand while I do this." She said. I looked at her with wide eyes.
"What if I hurt her again?" I asked, nervously. She glanced at Blaire then back to me. "Can you at least come over here so she can hold on to you?" She asked. I nodded and went to stand beside Blaire who sat on the examination table. She immediately hugged herself to me as tight as possible. Ms. McCall and Deaton held her broken wrist before quickly snapping it back into place. Blaire cried out in pain, hanging on to me even tighter. I felt so guilty for hurting her like this. We just started dating and I've already hurt her. I don't think I can forgive myself for that.
Deaton and Melissa begin putting a cast on her wrist but Blaire doesn't move from me. Her face buried into my chest and she whimpered softly. It hurt me so much to hear her soft whimpers. Thankfully she relaxed, but continued to lean against me. While Blaire was getting her cast on, Stiles and Lydia had arrived. Scott took the two of them into the lobby of the clinic and explained everything to them.
"All done. We want you to spend the rest of the day resting, so Jett why don't you get her home, okay?" Melissa asked. I nodded before tentatively stepping away from her and into the lobby.
"Uh I don't know if you heard, but I'm gonna take Blaire home, so I'll see you guys tomorrow." I say, quietly. I then turned back towards the examination room, but Scott's voice stops me.
"Hey. We'll figure out how to cure this!" He said. I gave him a small smile before walking back to Blaire.
It had been a silent drive to Blaire's until we stood on the front porch of her house.
"Jett, don't blame yourself for this. It's not like you meant to. The jerk off attacker that injected you with the super human serum, it's his fault! Not yours!" She said, completely serious. I gave her a small smile and kissed her forehead before turning and walking back to the car. I heard her sigh before entering the house.
As soon as I stepped through the front door of my house, I was bombarded by Kaila asking me to watch a movie with her.
"Not now. I'm tired."
"But it's only four o'clock." She said.
"I said not now Kaila!" I said, coldly.
"Fine! Later then?" She asked.
"No!" I shouted as I strode passed her.
"What the heck is wrong with you?" She asked. Her voice was full of sass.
"Nothing!" I yelled, before slamming my bedroom door, luckily I didn't break anything. I sat down on the edge of my bed, my face in my hands as I tried to calm myself.
I hope Scott and Stiles find a cure soon!
