John's POV

I stood with Oliver and Lyla, checking out the new A.R.G.U.S facility from the beach as we wait for Jett. My arm around Lyla's waist as I kiss the side of her head. She's been here working for the last couple of weeks, so I've missed her.

"How's Sara?" She asked. I smile. "She's great! Misses her mom though!" I say.

"I know, I miss the both of you too. One more week." She says with a sigh.

"When you get back, you, Sara and John are going on a nice vacation, my treat." Oliver says with a gentle smile. I smile and reach out to squeeze his shoulder.

"Thank you, Oliver!" I say. Lyla steps away from me to hug Oliver. "That's so kind of you! Thank you!" She says.

"It's my pleasure!" He replies.

"Hey guys!" Jett says from behind us. We turn around to face him.

"Oh hey Jett!" I say.

"How'd it go?" Oliver asked.

"Fine! He doesn't know who injected me so I guess that's a dead end." He says.

"We'll figure it out! Are you ready to fly back to Star City?" Oliver asked. Jett nodded and they turned towards the plane.

"Hey Oliver, I'm going to hang out here for a little bit! Catch you back in the city?" I ask.

"Of course!" He says, before he and Jett continue towards the plane. Within a couple of minutes, they take off towards the states. Lyla and I start walking towards the facility, hand in hand when her radio goes off.

"Director Michaels, do you copy?" A man asks.

"10/4 security." She replies.

"There's something you need to see." He says.

"Copy that I'm on my way." She says. We enter the facility and I follow her to security.

"What's going on?" She asks as soon as we enter the room. The head of security, Owen, gestured us over.

"I noticed something odd on the monitor that's facing Slade Wilson's cell." He said, pointing to the bottom corner of the screen. Leaning in close, you can see part of a foot with rubble and dark liquid pooling nearby.

"That wasn't there when Oliver and I were inside!" I say.

"What did that kid do?" Lyla asked.

"I don't know, but we need to hurry down there and find out who that is!" I reply. Lyla nods and we quickly exit the facility. Once outside, we sprint towards the manhole entrance to the prison. Climbing down the ladder, Lyla draws her gun before unlocking the door and opening it. She enters first, aiming in all directions. I follow her, looking to my left, I'm faced with a horrific scene.

"Jett?" I ask, confused. Turning my attention to Slade, I see him looking on, completely unaffected by the fact his son has been brutally attacked.

"What happened to him?" I ask, charging towards his cell. He chuckles, which angers me and I smack my hand on the cell bars. "Dammit Slade! What the hell happened to him?" I shout.

"John! I got a pulse! It's faint, but it's there!" Lyla calls. I glare at Slade for a second. "If that boy doesn't survive, I'm going to do what Oliver couldn't!" I threaten him before running over to Jett, kneeling beside him.

"We need to get him to the medical care unit! I paged them already and they're sending a basket stretcher so we can get him out of here without causing anymore damage." She says. I nod, looking him over, I'm utterly disgusted. How could someone do this to an innocent kid? Deep cuts all over his body, a through and through stab wound on his abdomen and who knows what other damage has been done.
