Elizabeth and I go out to a restaurant, and again I insist on paying. Our food comes in due time, but I barely notice the waiter putting our food in front of us. I'm lost in her excited, enthusiastic eyes talking about the latest book she had to read for one of her English courses. She wants to be an English teacher in high school. Her eyes are a bright, wild green which match well with her sunset-colored hair. The brightness in her eyes reminds me of how bright Jaykob's eyes once were. I feel a pulse in the back of my throat. Jayk. I had thought about him a few times today. I wonder if he's doing okay alone. Or if he's out partying or studying with friends.

I clear my thoughts quickly when Elizabeth comments on the food, those wild eyes going wide. "Wow! This pasta is so good! Why aren't you eating yet? Your food will get cold at this rate."

I pick up my fork and smirk at her. "Sorry. I just got lost in your eyes for a minute there. You should close them."

She stops her fork in midair and blushes. She averts her eyes downward and pushes her hair behind her left ear. "Don't do that," she says shyly and eats without looking at me.

"Do what? Oh, come on, I was kidding, I like seeing your eyes. They've had me captivated all day." I know exactly what I'm doing to her. I stare a little longer, until she finally meets my eyes again.

"There we go. Now I can eat in peace," I say with a wink and start eating. "Damn, no kidding, this food is good."

"Mason."

I look up at her again. "Yeah?"

"Why did you ask me out on a date?"

I stare at her for a few moments, then tilt my head slightly. Much like a puppy does. I see her eyes soften and widen ever so slightly.

"Well, am I not allowed to ask a pretty girl to spend some time with me? Honestly, I'm surprised you're single. You're brilliant, sophisticated, and fun." Also I needed a girl to get my thoughts of that dumbass Jaykob. "I don't know why you're questioning it."

"It was just kind of sudden, I don't know." Elizabeth shrugs a bit and continues eating.

"I see. You shouldn't be worried or anything, I asked you because I wanted to. So that book, is there a sequel to it?"

"I'm not sure, I'll have to look it up. I hope there is, I definitely want to read more." Her excitement bubbles again. I smile.

After dinner, we take a walk around the city that the restaurant is in. Neither of us had come here before, but it is beautiful at night. At some point, I realized Elizabeth was shivering and used my natural chivalry to take off my coat and put it on her.

"No, no- I'm fine, keep your coat," she tries to say.

I shake my head. "I'm good. I have a long sleeve shirt on, and I'm a man after all."

She smiles slightly and pulls the coat closer to her.

After walking around the city, we get back to my car. She gives me back my jacket, which I put on. (I was cold as hell outside but said nothing)

Back at the university, I park in front of the female dorm rooms and look at her. "Come, let me walk you to your dorm." I put my hand on my door and undo my seatbelt.

"Wait, Mason?"

Her voice draws me to look back at her. "Yes?" Really, I'm just anxious to get back to my room and see Jayk. But why?

Before I can think for too long, the collar of my shirt gets jerked in the direction of the passenger seat and my lips meet something warm and soft. Another pair of lips.

My eyes are wide for a bit, but as my brain registers what's going on I close my eyes and kiss Elizabeth back.

My muscles seem to relax, all thoughts of Jayk aside and only focusing on the excitement and satisfaction my body is feeling.

"S-sorry." She pulled away. Too soon. My body is angry, my brain yelling "Hey I wasn't done! Get back in there!"

"No, please don't be sorry. I'm glad you did that." I gulp and pause. "Mind if I..." I undo her seatbelt and pull her in again.

"No, I-I don't mind." She's stuttering. Elizabeth comes closer to me. Her face is red. I'm just craving human intimacy, something I haven't had in far too long.

I kiss her again, this time forcing her to part her lips. Somehow, she ends up on my lap. The air gets hot. She's kissing my lips, jaw, neck- everything happens so fast and I can't remember when or how it started.

I get excited to say the least, leaning my head back and enjoying the treatment I'm getting. I don't know how long this lasts, but when my hands travel from her lower back toward her thighs, I remember Jayk being at home. Alone. I have to get home to him. It's probably late. Peeking at the clock in the car, I see it's already a little past midnight.

"Liz," I whisper, my voice stressed and sounding airy. "Liz, it's late," I say in a low, husky voice.

She pulls away from my neck, looking at me with those green eyes, now a different type of wild than before.

"Yeah. I have class in the morning, um." She clears her throat, looking awkward. I cup her face, staring at her.

"We'll continue this another time, beautiful. I promise." I give her one last short kiss. She smiles, seeming satisfied.

"Okay."

I open the door and we manage to climb out. She leads me to her dorm room and takes out her key.

"I had lots of fun today," Elizabeth says and gives me a shy smile.

I smirk and nod. "Me too, no doubt one of the most fun dates I've been on. Thank you for this." I say. I take her hand and kiss her knuckles. "I'll see you in class, okay? Goodnight. Sleep well. Dream of me," I wink and wait for her to unlock the door.

"I probably will. I'll see you, Mason." She smiles and gives me an up-and-down look. I chuckle.

"Still checking me out? Go to bed, missy."

She giggles. "I have to get one more good look before sleeping or else the dream will be lame. Goodnight."

I laugh a bit. "Alright. Goodnight," I turn to walk away, waving at her as I go back to my car.

Without hesitation, I start up the car and rush toward my dorm building. Jayk.

I hurry to unlock our door, rushing in and seeing Jayk reading over his notebook on his bed. When I come in, he looks up and raises an eyebrow.

"Whoa there, trying something new huh? That shade doesn't suit you, though." Jayk says and puts down his notebook.

I furrow my eyebrows. "What?" I say and look into the nearest mirror. My hair is messed up, and there's lipstick smeared all around my face and neck. "Oh, shit."

Jayk laughs. "Oh shit is right, my friend. Didn't figure that Elizabeth girl as the sexual type. Guess you can't judge a book by its cover."

I look at Jayk again. "What are you still doing up though?"

"I was waiting for you. You had me worried sick."

I chuckle. "Sorry, babe."

"It's okay. I'll forgive you cause you're cute."

"Thanks. I'm gonna go take a shower." I take off my coat and hang it up, sliding off my shoes and grabbing a t shirt and boxers to take into the bathroom with me.

"Alright. I'm gonna sit here and study. If I'm asleep by the time you're out, tell me about the date tomorrow," Jayk sighs tiredly and picks up his notebook again.

"Can do," I hum and rather happily go to the bathroom, glad that I don't seem to have missed Jayk as much as I thought i did.
