NARRATOR

"Ngayon alam mo na Alyssa, do you still think that the girl I like is such a 'lucky girl'? Ly, can you give me a chance to suit you? Do I have any chance to win your heart Ly?"

Gosh. Tell me I'm dreaming. Please, someone tell me I am or just please simply slap Ysay back to reality. Maybe he's just trying to push some freaking joke on me. Wake me up if this is just a dream, snap both of us back to reality if we're just imagining.

This is not real. Alyssa thought to herself.

"Come on Ysay. Don't try to fool me no, I'm done playing with that kind of silly jokes, sawa na ako." Alyssa said standing up from their seat, stopping her tears from falling because of shock.

"Ly, tapos na rin ako sa pag tago nito. Please Ly, maniwala ka. I've been dying to find the right time to tell you this, please. Wag mo isipin that I am just fooling around." He stood up as well and held Aly's hands.

He's crying. Shit Ly, you made him cry. How could you?! Paano ko to nagawa? Paano dumating dito closeness namin ni Ysay?!

"I'm asking you one more time Ly, can you... atleast give me the chance to suit and prove you that I am definitely adamant to win your heart?" He said looking straight to Ly's eyes while tears are all over his cheeks.

Alyssa looked down on her feet, removed her hands from Ysay's grip and covered her face with it. She cried in front of a very affable and kind man who just said that she is his 'lucky girl'. Shewas just crying there, not able to say anything that would give Ysay the answer to his question.

"Are you crying for good?" He asked. "Tanga mo 'tol. Crying for good?!" He murmured to himself and slap his forehead. Finally, she found the guts to speak.

"Ysay... please don't make this hard for me... please..."

"Sorry... sorry di ko sinasadya pahirapan ka.. Sorryy." Paulit-ulit siya nag sosorry while hugging Alyssa. His chin's at her temple. "Sorry..." He said again, caressing her back. She moved and took a step away from him, rubbed my face with my hands and began to speak again...

"Ysay alam mo naman na ever since I met you, ang gaan na ng loob ko sa'yo. I am always willing to help you whenever you need me... well pag di busy.." Ysay was just listening. "You became one of my closest friends Ysay, my comfort, my man, and... and my friend."

Ysay felt his heart breaks when he heard Alyssa said that he's her friend. Although inexpect niya rin naman ang rejection na matatanggap niya, he was not prepared to shield those knives that stabbed him right in his chest. Ysay laughed bitterly. It was his turn now to look at the ground.

Alyssa put her hands beside Ysay's face gently moving it to face her. She saw how Ysay's tears were racing their way down, but Ysay manages to flash a fake and weak smile.

"Ysay, I believe that there would be someone who'll make your heart as happy as it should be. And I don't believe that that someone is me... Ysay, I don't want to lose you.." Upon hearing the last sentence said by Alyssa, they both cried again.

"Ly, you're not gonna lose me." Pinunasan ni Ysay mga luha niya and tried to look at Alyssa's eyes as long as he can.

"No, I am. I will, and I should. Because I can't lie to you Ysay. Ayaw kita paasahin, ayoko makita ka na masaktan dahil sa'kinn kasi masakit din!. Ysay, I hope you understand."

"Shh. I understand, wag ka na umiyak." Ysay pulled Ly for a hug again. Alam niya naman kung hanggang saan lang siya, and he accepts it though it breaks his heart. "Alam ko lahat. I just tried because I don't want to lose something without trying to have it. You taught me that, remember?" He said while his voice is cracking.

"What do you mean, you know?" Alyssa broke their hug and asked totally aghast.

"I know why you can't give me a chance." Ysay, for the nth time that night, smiled weakly. He don't want to hurt her by seeing him crying because of her.

"I don't get it, you know."

"First Ly, I know why you asked me before how to unlove someone who became your best friend. Remember, 5 months ago?" Alyssa just nodded. "Second, how wouldn't I know why you can't give me chance eh na-wrong sent ka sa'kin kagabi. Ha-ha. Go check it."

Alyssa checked her messaging in her phone and saw her message which was accidentally sent to Ysay.

To: Ysay Marasigan

Why u like that ba? Telling me sweet words lagi! How can I stop myself from falling for you Manong?

A tear fell from Ysay's right eye again. He forced himself to laugh.

"That was supposed to be sent to my own number. I was just releasing my..." Ysay did not let Aly finish what she was saying.

"I know na nga diba? You don't need to explain. Alam ko kung bakit di mo ako kayanag bigyan ng chance, it's because you do know, that your heart will always be reserved for someone else, right?"

And Ysay cried for the nthiest time. Alyssa just hugged the man in front of her. "Ly, can you promise me that after this night, nothing will change between us? You'll still be the woman who'll always be on the top of my messaging? The woman who helped me discover myself and the only woman who will always believe in me?"

"I promise... I will.. Walang mag babago, walang maaapektohan, promise. Pero please, don't lock your heart for someone else Ysay. There so much for you out there.. Ha?"

"Opo, capt." That was all Ysay could say after the confession.
