I woke up late in the morning. I rolled over and checked my phone, and I had lots of new texts in the group message with my friends about our plans for the day. I groaned, I didn't want to get up, but I needed to get ready. We had planned to go shopping at the mall and check out a couple of new stores that had recently opened there.

I forced myself out of bed looking for clothes to wear, most of which were scattered on my floor. I had to quickly get ready because I was supposed to meet the girls at the mall in an hour. I walked into the living room trying to find my mom. I found her in the laundry room getting ready to repack.

"What time is your flight?" I ask.

"Six, so I'll be out of here by four."

"Oh okay. I guess this is goodbye then. I'm going shopping and to probably see a movie with my friends." I tell her.

"Alright have fun sweetheart. I love you, and I'll miss you so much!" She pulled me into an embrace and I hugged her as tight as I could. I really wished she could stay for a longer time, and I thought about cancelling on my friends, but I knew she would be too busy to really hang out anyways.

I kissed her on the cheek and headed out the door to drive the short ways to the mall. Once parked I double checked my messages to see where I was supposed to meet them and headed in.

I saw them gathered at the fountain like planned. There they were, three of my closest girlfriends, and I quickly joined them.

"Ad! You're here! Now this party can get started!" Courtney said. Courtney was my best friend. We met in ninth grade math class. We only remotely knew each other, but neither one of us had friends in that class so we sat together. It turned out we were a good click and we've been close since.

We decided on what store we wanted to go to and the four of us were off. I browsed while the other girls shop. I normally never buy much when we go out. Gabby, one of my friends I met through Courtney, holds up a small crochet top, something much more revealing than I've ever been comfortable enough to wear.

"Ooh Adriana I think I found the perfect outfit for you to wear. Sammy would kill over if he saw you in this."

"Nah he'd probably just kiss her on the cheek." My other friend Lauren joined in. I felt my face heat up. Sam and I are known for lacking any kind of PDA and the girls love to give me a hard time about it. I normally don't mind because I know they are just teasing me. We all give each other a hard time, what kind of friends don't.

"Oh let the poor girl be. At least she's held a relationship unlike you two." Courtney steps into my defense.

"Ouch." Lauren places a hand over her heart then playfully shoves Courtney. "She knows we're just messing with her. Her and Sam are the cutest couple this boring city has ever seen. Even if they do like never seem to touch each other."

I rolled my eyes. "C'mon let's get some food before we catch a movie." I say distracting them from my relationship and that awful top.

We split up to grab what each of us want from different restaurants in the food court. Once we all have our food we pick out a table to sit and eat.

We're all silent stuffing our faces when suddenly Gabby squeals. I follow her eyes to the tv the mall has up in the court. It's on the news channel and there front and center is my boyfriend. Well as Midnight Hour. A lady was interviewing him at what looked to be another scene of a crime.
I strained to hear what was happening but I couldn't due to all the noise in the food court.

Gabby sighed. "Isn't he just the most beautiful thing ever?" She said referring to Midnight Hour.

"I know what I would do to him." Lauren said smirking.
