The next few days were a contest to see who could make the other's life more of a living hell. Alex no longer trusted me out of his sight and kept me in the same room as him wherever he went. The first day I attempted to lock myself in my room, but Alex quickly made it clear he wasn't allowing that anymore when he removed my door from the hinges. This then resulted in a screaming match between the two of us that would have triggered someone calling the police if only anyone was around to hear it.

Alex allowed absolutely no freedom or fun in my life, and I returned the favor with lots of insults and yelling thrown his way.

The only time I got any privacy was in the morning when I was graciously given about ten minutes to get myself ready for the day. Which was exactly what I was doing as I spit out my mouthful of toothpaste. I walked out of my room having to step over my door discarded in the hallway.

"Time's up!" I heard Alex yell.

"I'm already freaking coming!" I yelled back at him walking into the kitchen where he was. There was an omelet on a plate for me across from where Alex sat at the table. I sat down and we both started eating in dead silence. I could hear every chew and swallow from us both.

That is the way it had been between us. When we weren't giving each other the silent treatment we were having yelling matches.

The moment I finished the last bite of my omelet Alex stood up scraping his chair against the floor. I followed him as he exited the kitchen to wherever he would go next. It didn't take a lot for me to comply with his new schedule. One tiny threat towards my loved ones and I was following him around like a lost puppy.

He went into his office and I followed him in. I sat in one of the spare chairs while he sat behind the desk. Alex hadn't left one day since my escape attempt and instead we spent most of our time in his office now. He did who knows what typing away on his computer or writing stuff down, while I sat there bored out of my mind. It had been a couple hours when I finally lost it.

"Alex please just let me turn on the tv in here." I begged for the fifth time as I couldn't take reading one of the same three books over again.

"No."

I let a loud obnoxious groan that turned into a full on yell at the end, but Alex didn't even look up.

"You want me to just die in here? Is that it? Because I'm going to die in here Alex! From absolute boredom!"

"Read a book then."

I chucked the book in my hand at him knocking him in the shoulder, but he still didn't glance up. I wanted him to yell at me, fighting with him at least gave me something to do.

"Get some more damn books then." I said back to him mocking his voice.

"You're being extremely childish Adriana." He said still collected, but I could hear the annoyance starting to creep into his voice.

"Maybe it's because I'm still a child. I still have a few more months before I'm a legal adult. You should know that, or did that crucial piece of information somehow slip in your pedophile mind?"

Alex stood up from his chair slamming his hands down on his desk. I had wanted a reaction out of him, but I was starting to regret it seeing the anger behind his eyes.

"Is this always how you get attention? Is this some sort of game you play with your boyfriend to get his attention normally?" He took a low jab at me.

"No this is about you being an asshole. Midnight Hour gives me attention on his own thank you very much."

Alex chuckled and it was darker than usual. It wasn't his airy ringing laugh. That I hadn't heard in days.

"You think I don't know Adriana?" He stalked closer to me. "I know all about your precious Sam and how he treated you."
