A few days pass back into our regular routine, but I now spend more time with Alex when he is home talking to him. A part of my mind is still screaming at me for doing so, but my loneliness overrides it.

It turns out we have pretty similar taste in music and tv shows, and I feel like if I had just met him at school we could be great friends.

It was the middle of the morning and Alex hadn't dissapeared into the town for the day. Instead he was just watching tv reruns in his sweatpants. I was also sitting in the living room reading a sappy romance novel that I had requested he bring me a couple days ago.

"So you taking a sick day or what?" I ask him. "Or do you get alloted a certain amount of vacation? Was that in the job description or did you ask for it?"

"You think you are so funny don't you?" Alex says but I see the corners of his mouth turn up.

"Um yeah I do." I say

"Fair enough." he replies, "But no I honestly have nothing better to do today than hang out with you."

"Well that sounded fake and I'm honestly so offended. I'm a cool person. Ten-thousand times cooler than you."

"Cooler than me?" He scoffed, "I don't think anyone is cooler than me."

"Shaq, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Lautner-"

"Okay I get the point. But none of them are The Machiavellian." Alex said dramatically. I almost snorted.

"Your super name is not cool. Are you kidding me?" I said laughing. Alex looked so offended and I could tell I struck a nerve with his ego.

"What do you mean my name is so cool and clever. I mean it makes sense with who I am and it almost has the word villian in it." Alex said looking dead serious and I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes

"It's just a word that came from some Italian dude talking about politics and literally means to be bad."

"It means to be scheming."

"Well I'm not that impressed."

"Alright well how did lover boy get his name then, huh? Midnight Hour isn't that impressive."

"From me actually." I said my voice softening.

I remembered the night Sam picked his name clearly. It was nearing the end of our freshman year and Sam was had mastered control of his powers and was planning on appearing as a superhero in the approaching summer. We had been trying to come up with names all afternoon, but nothing sounded right. I convinced Sam for us to take a break, and just focus on something else.

We were both laid out on his bed doing homework. I was going through a faze where I was obssessed with 80s music and everything from it. I had an oldies station was playing on his radio softly. I could tell that Sam was bummed with not being able to come up with a name, and I was getting a headache from my math homework. That's why when I heard my favorite song come on I went wild.

"Turn it up Sam! I love this song it is my favorite!" I said jumping up to my feet and pulling him up with me.

"Addy-" Sam started to whine but I hushed him with my exagerrated singing and dancing.

"Last night a little dancer came dancin' to my door." I started grabbing Sam's hands to make him dance with me. "And if it expires pray help from above cause IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR SHE CRIED- MORE, MORE, MORE"

Sam rolled his eyes at me as I was now wildly jumping around and singing obnoxiously.

"WITH A REBEL YELL SHE CREID- MORE, MORE, MORE"
