"Addie, wake up! We have to go right now!" Mommy said.

I opened my eyes. "Why? It's still dark!" I said.

Why does mommy want to go somewhere now? It's too dark!

"Because, just just get up and help me pack your things. "

I got out of bed and grabbed my few toys I have and put them into my bag. Mommy is taking all my clothes off of the hangers and putting them neatly into my bag. I guess I should start packing my clothes. I only have 3 pairs. My tennis shoes, flats, and sandles. I put them all into my bag on top of my folded clothes. Mommy is packing my blanket now.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Well, we are going someplace far away from here where your daddy will never hurt you ever again. How does that sound?"

"Awesome!"

"Ok, be quiet and follow me. "

I followed mommy out of my room. She looked around to make sure daddy isn't awake. Then we got to the door and went out. I can't believe it! We are running away from daddy!! Mommy did say we are going to go far away from here and daddy won't hurt me ever again. I hope it's true. Mommy led me to the playground, past the ice cream store, and passed the soccer field. Before daddy started being mean, he used to take me to that soccer field almost everyday. We used to play soccer together. I remember daddy telling me that I'm going to be an Olimpic soccer player one day. Now, I probably will never have the chance. Me and daddy haven't practiced soccer in a long time. I think it's been about one and a half years since I've practiced. That's such a long time! I love soccer. So did daddy. Me and mommy walked out of the neighborhood I used to live in and got to a street with lots of shops. They are all closed right now. Mommy led me into an alley with a banister above it. That's going to be helpful if it rains. I don't know what month it is. I don't even know what a month is. But I do know it's not winter. When it's winter it snows. And it's not snowing now. Mommy also puts up a Christmas tree in winter. But Santa hasn't left me any presents in 2 years. Daddy says it's because I'm a bad girl. I don't think it's fall either. In fall, the leaves change colors and fall down to the ground. No leaves are changing colors. I don't know if it's spring. Normally in spring, big kids are all in school. But lately, they haven't been in school. So I'm guessing it's summer right now. Since its summer, I don't think it will rain much.

"Lay down and go to sleep. " mommy told me.

We are pretty far back in the alley. I don't think any people from the street can see us all the way back here.   I sat down by mommy and rested my head on her legs. Mommy did it. She got us away from daddy. I just hope that he doesn't come looking for us. But if he does, I hope he doesn't find us. He always told me that if I ran away or told anybody what he does to me and mommy, then he would have to kill me. I don't want to die yet. I eventually fell asleep in mommy arms. I woke up a few hours later to mommy sitting up.

"Mommy?" I asked.

"Yes Addie?" Mommy responded.

"I'm hungry. "

Mommy pulled a poptart out of her purse.

"Yummy!!!"

I haven't had a poptart in years!! Where did mommy get all this food I see in her purse? When she put the poptart box back into her purse, a bunch of money fell out. Wow!

"Where did you get all of this money?!"
I asked as I helped mommy pick it all up and put it back into her purse.

"My job. " mommy told me.

I thought all the money mommys job gave her daddy got? Oh well. I just hope mommy didn't steal it from daddy. Stealing is very bad. It's also against the Bible. I only know what a Bible is because mommy and daddy used to take me to church. I loved it there. But we stopped going last year when people asked why I had a bunch of bruises. Me and mommy spent all day in the alley playing games. We played a bunch of card games and connect 4. I love connect 4!! I beat mommy every time! Now the sun is going back down and I can see the moon. I laid my head on mommys legs like last night. I fell asleep. Then suddenly, I woke up when mommy got up. I hit my head on the ground. I opened my eyes to see that it's still dark. I sat up.

"Stop!!" Mommy screamed.

I see a big scary man trying to do something to her.

"Mommy!"

"Run!!" Mommy told me.

I grabbed my bag and running as fast as my little legs can carry me.

"No! After I'm done with you, I'm moving on the the child!" The scary man said.

I ran faster. I'm almost out of the alley.

"No!!" Mommy screamed.

I'm out of the alley now. I ran Rwanda the shops and hid under a counter. What's going to happen now? I pulled my knees to my chest and cried quietly. What's going to happen now? I don't have a mommy anymore. I have nobody now. I'm scared. What if that man finds me? What if daddy finds me? I hope as soon as that man leaves mommy alone, she will come look for me.

"Hello sweetie. " a voice said.

I looked up and flinched.

"Don't hurt me!" I said.

"Honey, why would I hurt you?"

From what I've learned men are bad. But this isn't a mans voice. It's a lady. I looked up again.
