Chapter 9: "20 stitches in the hospital room. "

I opened my eyes. I'm looking at a white ceiling. Where am I? I thought I was at a park.

"Addie!" Mommy yelled.

"Mommy? Where am I?" I asked.

"You're in the hospital. You tried sliding down the pole at the park by yourself but you fell."

"My head hurts."

Then a nurse walked in.

"Hello Addison! My name is Nicole. I'm your daytime nurse." Nicole said.

"Call me Addie. I don't like being called Addison. " I said quietly.

"Ok Addie, you are going to stay overnight so we can make sure that you're ok. You have a head injury, so when you go home you can't be hyper."

"Ok."

I yawned. Nicole left the room.

" why don't you like the name Addison?" Mommy asked.

I feel like I want to cry. I'm trying to hold back my tears.

"My old daddy used to call me Addison. I don't like to think of my old daddy so I don't tell people my real name. "

I wipe a few tears away.

"I hate thinking about daddy. "

"Addie!!" Daddy said.

My new daddy ran into my hospital room.

"Is she ok?" He asked mommy.

"I'm fine daddy!" I said sitting up in the hospital bed.

Daddy hugged me.

"Next time, you need to listen to your mommy, princes. "

"I sowy!"

I started crying. I didn't mean to!

"Don't hurt me!!" I yelled.

"Honey! We won't!" Mommy said.

I laid back and closed my eyes. I fell asleep. My real mommy came into my dream.

"Hi baby girl!" Real mommy said.

"Hi mommy!" I replied.

"Even though I'm in heaven, I can still see you and hear you. I need you to start listening to your new mommy, ok? I don't like seeing you hurt."

"Ok mommy. I'll listen. "

"I have to go now baby. I love you. Forever and always. "

Mommy left again. I opened my eyes. My real mommy is gone. I have to listen to my new mommy and daddy now.

~Taylor's POV~

After being awake for only 10 minutes, Addie is already falling back asleep. I guess head injuries do that to people. She must be having a good dream. She's been smiling for about 5 minutes now.

"Forever and always mommy." Addie said.

Why does she keep saying forever and always? She sat up and opened her eyes with a big smile.

"Honey, can I ask you something?"

She shook her head yes.

"Why do you always say forever and always?"

" because mommy always tells me she loves me. After she says forever and always meaning that she will forever and always love me. "

That's so sweet! Calvin went to the hospital bed and hugged her again.

~Addie's POV~

Daddy hugged me again. Then Nicole came back into my hospital room.

"Are you hungry?" She asked.

I nodded my head yes.

"Do you want chicken nuggets, spaghetti, or pizza?"

"Pizza!" I yelled.

She smiled and walked out.

"What time is it?" I asked.

" it's 6:30 sweetie. "

"Only mommy can call me sweetie! And you can only call me Addie or princess!"

"Ok princess Addie "

Mommy smiled.

"I'm tired." I complained.

"You have to eat first, then you can go to sleep." Mommy said.

Then Nicole came back in the room. But his time she has my pizza and some apple juice. Mommy turned on the tv for me.

"Do you want to watch Cinderella or Sofia The First?"

"Cinderella!"

I love Cinderella. It's one of my favorite movies. And Cinderella is one of my favorite princesses! Actually, they all are. I can't make up my mind! I've only seen Cinderella once though.

"Did you miss me Addison?" Somebody asked.

I turned to see who said that. Mommy and daddy did too. I let out a loud scream. It's my old daddy.

"No!" I screamed.

My new daddy went over to my old daddy and mommy came to stand by me.

"Addison, daddy won't hurt you." My old daddy said.

"You're not my daddy! You have always hurt me! And my old mommy! Just leave me alone!" I started to cry.

"We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way. " new daddy said.

Old daddy tried to push past new daddy.

"Security!" New daddy said.

Mommy picked me up and is trying to get me to look away. But I see 2 big guys come and take my old daddy away.

" I killed your mother and I'm happy I did it! I should have killed you too!" Old daddy said.

I cried. "He killed my mommy!"

"Shhhh it ok. Your old daddy will never hurt you. " mommy whispered into my ear.

I closed my eyes. I didn't mean to, I just did. I see mommy again.

"It's ok baby. Mommys ok. You'll be ok. You'll never see daddy again."

"Forever and always."

I opened my eyes again.

"Mommy said I will never see daddy again. " I told my new mommy and daddy.

I hope mommy that's in heaven is telling the truth. I never want to see my old daddy ever again. Mommy and daddy looked at each other. Mommy then sat me back down on the hospital bed.

"Go to sleep. " she said.

"Can you sing to me? Safe and sound?" I asked.

"Of corse! I remember tars streaming down your face..."

That's all I heard mommy sing before I closed my eyes. This time I meant to. I fell asleep. I hope I can go home tomorrow.
